RE: 4 Speed Manual tranny and transfer case on Craig
KENNY!!!!!
Hey thanks for that info about my 79 K5. I will probably get under that thing this morning and take a few digitals of the drivetrain to confirm what is in there. I guess all of the other stuff, pedals and linkage will bolt right...
RE: 4 Speed Manual tranny and transfer case on Craig
Thanks for the info AJMBLAZER! I just wrote to the guy and informed him that I would not be interested in his transmission/transfer case combo. I have a 1979 K5 Blazer in the back yard that is a trailering special or something like that...
RE: 4 Speed Manual tranny and transfer case on Craig
You are probably correct about the Saginaw transmission. I went to one web site that had pictures and descriptions of various manual transmissions and it looked like a New Process A833 which the author indicated was used in some GM...
RE: 4 Speed Manual tranny and transfer case on Craig
Thanks Mike! I happen to have a Muncie M22 rock crusher 4 speed so that's why I kind of saw red flags when I looked at the transmission this guy wanted me to buy. A granny gear would require a much larger case so I really think I will check...
RE: 4 Speed Manual tranny and transfer case on Craig
Here's the ad that he placed on Craig's List:
i have a new rebuilt muncie rockcrusher tranny w/ transfercase that came out of my 87 chevy fourwheel drive truck with a 350. the motor blew in my truck just after i had the tranny and...
I am negotiating with a local who has advertised a totally rebuilt Muncie Rock Crusher four speed transmission and transfer case that came out of a 1987 Chevy pickup - not a CUCV by the way. I went over to look at the item and have never seen such a setup. Pictures on several web sites indicate...
Thanks CCATLETT1984! It's dark outside right now so I'll look for the valve in the morning. Let me know if you are still interested in that Light Duty Truck Service Manual too. I hope the price didn't scare you off! Everything is negotiable! Al Broadbent
ida34...I have a 1986 M1008A1 CUCV and had no idea there was an adjustable proportioning valve on my truck until I read your post. Where is mine located and how do you adjust it for a heavy load in the bed of the truck? Thanks for your info!!!!! Al Broadbent
I lucked out and bought a used setup for $250.00 - this was a great price even though I had to replace the O-Ring and boot cover. This is the way to go unless you are a fabricator of sorts because the entire system can be bolted into your truck without special tools or extensive mechanical...
Many thanks to all of you who did the research on this cover of mine. It's nice to know what you have! Once I put the M35 curtain over the back, everything will be fairly watertight for now.
There are no female quarter-turn grommets around the perimeter of this cover which would rule out the M1008 idea. I really think it is for an M35 because I have pulled most of the excess over the front of the trailer to cover the front area and had a lot of excess side material to deal with as...
I think I have a deuce cargo cover! Oh well...at least I have a deuce to use it on but I am pissed at the guy who sold me this cover saying that it was for an M105! The dead giveaway was the buckles around the top - four on each side and the long ropes at each end of the cover
I hope to be there but don't know which vehicle to drive. My deuce needs a lot of maintenance right now but runs like a top especially after Kenny put the C turbo on there for me. I just got replacement parts for my Air O Matic power steering that I have to install and then there are the...
I think I have an M37 cargo cover but will not know until I take measurements. Seems like the cargo cover for my deuce was much larger and the one you see on the M105 trailer is about the same size of the cargo area of an M37.
In regards to the guy wanting some extra side boards for an M105...
more photos of the canvas
I just took a few more pictures of the cover for further study. This is a very rusty trailer! I plan to use the frame from this one and the bed from the green one to make one good trailer to pull behind my M35A2C
Trailer Tarp
On the inside is MS 51323-28 MFR-56101, It says FRONT on the exterior front of the cover just like you would see on an M35A2 cargo cover. I was wondering if this cover was for another application myself! Thanks for the reply! Looks like I will have to make this work for a...
I just installed a used one-piece cargo cover on one of my M105A2 trailers and I cannot figure out how this cover is supposed to tie down in the front of the trailer. When I bought this tarp about a year ago I never imagined it being a one-piece unit. My other M105 cover is a newer version...
Thanks for the quick reply! I have a lot of 8-lug rims off of other vehicles, which appear to be wider than the stock M1008 rims. I guess I would run into the same problem with them as well. One set that I have is from a Dodge pickup with, supposedly the same bolt pattern as the CUCV. I also...
