New Potential Owners - Generator Model Numbers ARE Important!

Exuberance when bidding can cause one to miss the 400 cycle issue....but hey, dump a couple my way for hydraulic pumps or irrigators.

New Potential Owners - Generator Model Numbers ARE Important!

Yep....a nice big phase converter. I bought a couple AB 25 hp units some time back and had thoughts about doing just that.

M116A3 - First Overland Trailer Build!

Good for you....will make a great base to build from. Apparently the A3 is a bit wider than A2. It should have free backing as well.

    M51 Dump Bed Operation?

It's the cut up handle of a floor nailer tool. I siliconed it over the OEM stub handle. When I hauled about 120 loads with my 817, I got tired reaching back and didn't like the small cast handle so found this extension for the 929.

    M51 Dump Bed Operation?

I extended the handle on mine and it's easier to access. The 929 operates differently for engaging the pto but the lift-down lever works the same. Oshkosh had some new gates also. A straight gate changes the looks ( and operates better).

M116A3 - First Overland Trailer Build!

Yea ....sorry... that is a good price. On my wtb ad there is a post @850. I want to do some travel myself and keep coming back to having the issue of transportation that does not require me to move my campsite. I'm even thinking bus and make it to carry a MiniCooper, but a PU with trailer...

M116A3 - First Overland Trailer Build!

As long as you know that you need an adaptor or redrill....cool. That's a nice Excursion. The s788 box is double wall aluminum and only weighs 600#. At 850 it's a good deal but for about 500 more you could have the 1101/2 . Either will work and have as much clearance maybe more than the truck.

M116A3 - First Overland Trailer Build!

If I'm not mistaken, the bolt pattern of the Excursion is 8 x 170 mm and the HMMWV is 8 on 6 1/2" bc, so simply changing wheels is not an option. Or do you have an older Excursion like my 98 Suburban uses 8 x 6 1/2bc. Picture of box has my frame under it and 7 k dexter axle, narrowed for the...

M116A3 - First Overland Trailer Build!

I like the 116a3 and have a wanted ad for one, but with the truck you have, that added size will be useful if you go with a 1101/2. You will have to pay more, but I think worth it. The surge brakes are great and if need be, can be changed to electric. They are free backing as is. On either...

    Canvas cargo cover weight

Check with the tent company to see if they can work with treated material or not. Try Chicago Canvas. There is a company with billboard ads printed on heavy rubber canvas vinyl with pop up ads on the www for the used material in black or white. It's heavy duty, but no olive drab.

    M35A2 converting to super singles

While I have A3 wheels, I like the custom made wheels that Eastern is selling. But man are they pricey at over $400 each. The offset is good to bring the front out a bit and then use them dish out on the back. Actually I like them on the front (only) because of backspace and A3 wheels with...

anyone install a lockout hub on a rear axle?

It would be handy just to relieve stress in cornering. I think it needs the axle splined. If I wanted to tow very far, I would pull the axles and make covers. Only the splined outer part needs removed on the front. Front covers could use dished air tank heads and a flange. I almost made a...

C&c dumpbed install hydraulic fitting questions

If all else fails....read the instructions. Just joking. I doubt that your pump can do a lot more than 3.5 gal/minute, so any changes to get more flow (thus less time) would not gain much. Place to put it is the push side of the cylinder...correct?

C&c dumpbed install hydraulic fitting questions

This is just a guess, but it would be in the push side. Here is why I say that. Some systems have a check valve that requires pressure on the down side control line that prevents it from coming down fast and under load, should a line break. I have no idea if your kit includes a pilot...

    Goodyear vs. Michelin super singles

Come down 31 to Rochester and I'll show you the 395 xzl and A3 rims. Wes, that sounds like a great 5 ton combination, even though one could stuff under a deuce.

Custom wheels - Problem, questions, help.

On road use. 4x2 maybe. I'm okay with an adaptor and the 11 1/4 bc. On rear Google "Track Ready Hummer" for the inspiration to my madness.

Custom wheels - Problem, questions, help.

Wow....you are going all the way! Looking forward to pictures! I've been looking into the wide base aluminum wheels myself for an entirely different purpose and could not come up with the blank in the 22.5x 14 or 13. Did you locate them? I went to alu-wheels.com but no luck. We don't have...

M105 on a M1028, has anyone one done that?

Sgms....really nice work. Is the bed narrowed? I'm trying to stay with surge brakes on these trailers but am a big fan of the 105. I keep taking them apart and one of these days will have a nice one for pulling with the deuce. Here is my tongue mod to 2 5/16" for my weld trailer and I...

    Hummer hot rod

The speed on the sand trail is something like 50 mph limit and the wide base semi is 80. I cannot believe how smooth the wide Michelins run too. I watched a semi close the other day that convinced me a highway truck hummer might be a fun project with the wide Dana 80 and the 22.5x14 rim. I...

    sprag/overrun testing

I think you would have to block up all wheels so the back can turn free to see if the front is engaging. Or some mud, which comes with the risk of having to be pulled out since making the rear turn and not move the truck is the goal (to see if front is engaging).
