Tell that to the DMV for my inspection.
Out west all the Fast-N-Furious Rice Burners were installing illegal HID bulbs in their halogen reflector housings. The result is absolutely blinding the oncoming traffic. That's what happens when you sell a $100 kit pretending to be a $2500 HID factory...
Are they DOT legal? How many lumens do they produce? Are there any side-by-side photos of their night performace compared to halogen or HID? I know that HID conversions are illegal b/c they blind oncoming motorists. But, HID driving lights mounted to the bumper are DOT legal as long as they...
I'm just curious why the fronts have the thread side facing out but the backs have the studs facing the other way. I think it would look interesting if the backs faced out as well.
Are split rims safe? On another thread a guy referred to them as "suicide rims." I asked what he meant by that but he didn't answer. Also, do split rims need a tube or can they go tubeless?
My mistake. I must have been thinking of a different photo. The one I'm thinking of the guy didn't even grind the paint off the top piece of metal. I've known people that weld right over rust, paint, grease, whatever. And I make it a point to never ride in their cars
I'll stick my $0.02 in on the welding question.
As I understand it, M35 frames are mild steel, not spring or hardened steel. Grundletaube informed me that the bumperettes are spring steel. Therefore avoid welding those. Judicious welding on a frame should be fine. The key word is Judicious...
I'm the new guy here. Do you really want ME to put together a filter list? I'm still not sure what the extra 2 NAPA gaskets are for. I'm assuming they are for the secondary fuel filter. I haven't even opened up the hood yet!
Okay, fine. LISTEN UP ALL NEW PEOPLE. TO CHANGE YOUR OIL & FUEL...
Sorry, I didn't know I was supposed to be publishing a technical paper with associated boring title.
I thought that spinning filters making my head spin was rather humorous.
Next time I'll keep it robotic & dry.
Thanks,
Just so I don't blow 20 quarts of oil (& 2 quarts of Slick 50) & 50 gallons of diesel on the freeway (including Redline's diesel injector lube + anti-smoke agents), seizing the engine & hurling a piston at the windshield tailgating me, & possibly igniting a 50 mph Chernobyl with...
Oil filters (25 micron): Carquest 85133 comes with gasket.
Primary fuel filter (40 micron): Purolator 053754-01. Get this from SECO in Augusta, GA. Don't use the NAPA 3511 or equivalent for the primary, it's way too fine at 10 microns and will clog to easily.
Secondary and final fuel filters (6...
Probably every weekend.
BTW, pressure built up in the axles on my trip home & now I have front & rear seal leaks, grumble, grumble. Every 4x4 I ever owned had this problem. My solution is to replace the breather cap with a nylon hose + open-ended fuel filter, raised high enough that water...
