I kept the Michigan Air National Guard markings on my latest SEE, don't know why, maybe as a reminder that I need someone to blame for it's noticeable lack of maintenance
Oh it has a nice little rock scraping, tree stump pulling job waiting for early Fall. Want it looking good before the dance.
The military unit this SEE came out of must have repainted it once with a push broom and floor mop. It looks awful. I have hours of sanding ahead of me.
Scraped and sanded the rust and pealing paint from backhoe controls to the bucket. Applied rust inhibitor, 2 coats of red primer, and green paint to match the original color. Next weekend I'll work on sprucing up another section......... if time allows.
The FLU419 individual wires on the wiring harness are tough TOUGH to trace out. It almost seems like the wiring harness was first on the assembly line, and the truck was built around it. Thanks to these critters taking advantage of chewing the wires in two at the most difficult spots to perform...
Both my units came out of Texarkana, 6 months apart. First one had vines grown up and over the engine and into the cab. Second one had varmint nests in the heater, and under the hood. Found some chewed wires but were an easy fix. Had to break out the super orange cleaner in spray bottle, as a MV...
I've been working on the SEE I bought from GP last week. Got it cheap because the gauges didn't work and the throttle was inoperable. Gauges were an easy fix, a quick disconnect was unplugged under the hood. The throttle / accelerator linkage was a mess. All the accelerator and hand throttle...
The FLU419s at Texarkana are located off base on Southlake Dr., I was there again this week and the on site GP guy is great to work with. I only live 90 miles from there, so the delivery was cheap. Good luck with your quest, and enjoy the SEE
Picked up my newly acquired SEE yesterday, and after going through the truck was pleasantly surprised to find (22) 30 round M16 magazines and a couple pair of new WileyX ballistic sunglasses under the passenger seat. Always nice to get a bonus gift.
