What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Between you and my buddy I'm starting to feel like I overpaid! And here I was trying not to be an insulting low-baller! It's 53lbs worth of tools so be ready!

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I ordered the same set from that seller a couple weeks ago. I got my set for $200. A friend of mine made an offer of $190 and got one too. Good deal on the tools since the cost on the kit is like $2500. Saw someone else selling the kit that is the next level up that includes those tools plus...

    Cooling upgrade system.

As someone running a significantly turned up IP on my 6.2 that doesn't hesitate to get hot, I'm certainly interested. Looking forward to pics!

New HMMWV Owners - great older U.S. Army video HMMWV Operation 1991

I've had several full size Jeep Grand Wagoneers and a full size Cherokee over the years (none any longer though) and all of them would do the same thing. It's perfectly normal. The key isn't to necessarily to pull the lever harder but rather to pull it faster into your desired gear range. For...

    Living with a HMMWV

Ahhhh... Yes to all of the above! First and foremost, unless your truck was babied by the previous owner, be prepared to replace a lot of standard things you'd find wrong with a 20+ year old truck like hoses, belts, seals, and various other rubber and wear components. It took me...

New HMMWV Owners - great older U.S. Army video HMMWV Operation 1991

I watched these about a year ago while waiting in anticipation of my paperwork clearing.

I have a Warn 24 Volt 12,000lb winch. What is the best way to mount it to my M1025?

Thankfully no flooding, just wind damage. I'm on the high ground for a reason. Just an FYI, I got the frame extensions from HPG and the bumper from eBay. Kascar has the frame extensions for about the same price but, since they ship factory OE parts 100%, I prefer HPG after I've gotten...

I have a Warn 24 Volt 12,000lb winch. What is the best way to mount it to my M1025?

Sorry, I forgot to post a follow up I meant to make when I got home since I made my posts from the road. Been busy cleaning up storm damage and forgot. Here's a couple pics of what the setup looks like assembled that I scrounged up when I was looking to put my winch on my truck. Some pics...

    Florida off road only

Good thing the Founders were smart enough to establish that whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing, putting the burden of proof on the state and not the defendant! I'm sure even a Saul Goodman quality lawyer could successfully defend against such a charge if it came down to it...

I have a Warn 24 Volt 12,000lb winch. What is the best way to mount it to my M1025?

No, those are for an electric winch.

I have a Warn 24 Volt 12,000lb winch. What is the best way to mount it to my M1025?

I've got a commercial, 12,000 lb electric winch on my truck. I used the frame extensions (left and right) with the winch "bumper" (got mine surplus from eBay). I don't know what the mounting bolt pattern is on the Warn military winch but if it's 4"x9" it will bolt up to that bumper. My...

What should I do...and what are my options legally.

Yep, same with the three folks in Texas I know. All went in with the off road branded paperwork and didn't have any problem, one is a member here. Sounds like 4x4nutz was just unlucky enough to run into a DMV worker who didn't know how to do their job.

What should I do...and what are my options legally.

Actually, Texas is one of the easiest states to get a standard title in. I personally know 3 people who have gone through the process with zero issues. 1 got historical/antique plates, the other 2 got an inspection and standard plates.

2 door to 4 door conversion question....

No need to hunt down the individual components unless you're a glutton for punishment. Breton Industries has complete kits that include everything except rear seat belts. Price is shipped too. (Also, part numbers of all components are at the link too if you're curious.)

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I just spent the morning digging mine out from the wreckage of my auto shelter after my house was hit with 65-70 MPH winds this morning. Inside drying off from cleanup since it is still raining. Still have power at least... Thankfully there was no tornado despite the tornado warning I was under...

    Passenger side floor insulation

Yep, I've got the elbow and snorkel on my truck. With my heater upgrade I installed, it was just too much of a pain taking all of that apart doing work on it.

    Passenger side floor insulation

Also a great opportunity to install nutserts/rivnuts to mount the heater core so future removals are far easier.

    Bad News Georgia HMMWV Owners

In the eyes of the NHTSA, any off road only branding is absolutely meaningless because there is no way for the seller to hold the buyer to that standard: https://isearch.nhtsa.gov/gm/94/nht94-1.78.html Also stated in that letter, as you can see at the link, military vehicles are not required...

    Bad News Georgia HMMWV Owners

I can't speak for any other GP HMMWV buyers but I most certainly did not buy mine for off road only use. I bought mine with full intention of operating it on road. Long before I even registered to bid on Gov Planet, I researched Ohio's state laws for some time to ensure Ohio (like a number of...
