How you making out with your Airpack?
You may find that 24v lights can be pricy, if you find some cheap 12v ones you can always change the bulb itself like Rambling Wreck did. I did the same with my off road lights on the front..
I am not that familiar with the Humvee but I believe it has the standard 3 lever switch. If you have it set to Blackout mode then the brake lights and turn signals will not come on..
Did you try and drain out a little fuel out of the primary fuel filter? Mine drove OK but after reading up on the deuce I decided to drain the filters. Here is what came out... a bunch of rusty water mixed with diesel fuel. Read up on the TM's Specifically the PSMultifuelOperators.pdf , this...
I bought two cheap Battery Minders 12v each so I can also use on my cars. I was also told you can keep them connected but when I read the manual it said to minimize any risk to damage the charger it is best to disconnect the batteries and then charge. For the deuce it's relatively easy so no...
Ditto on what DH said, I would do the same. I don't have the same set up as you but I had a bad airpack and MC with brake fluid blowing out the vent tube. Knowing what I do now, I would do all in your case. If one is bad the other could be right behind it. With trucks this big brakes are a...
I hear ya Crazy Welder, Always sounded a bit high to me too. I was thinking of converting to some new headlights with 24V H4 bulbs in them. I thought that may get me some extra brightness and would be easier to exchange just the bulb when they burn out instead of the whole headlamp.
Actually...
Sure sounds like an internal seal issue to me. I rebuilt both my MC and Airpack. Do you have any brake fluid coming out the slobber tube on the side of the engine? That could also suggest an internal seal issue.
Thanks, that may work out great to tape off and spray over where my hard top comes together with the back panel and where the back panel meets the cab. (To keep rain water out of the cab) Too bad I already used some clear silicone over the rubber gasket! There are probably a bunch of places...
Welcome to the site, from another new yorker! I love it here and have been learning so much about my deuce. I also gained a bunch knowledge to already start to help some others here. I think it's great you came on here mainly to provide help, that's awesome!
Wow Steve, you are rocking and rolling on your bob project... I thought I had some tools.. I wish you were closer, I would love to hang around just to give you a hand and soak up some knowledge! I love fabrication!!
Well speaking from the experience I had, check your Brake Fluid in your M/C. You could have a leak somewhere either in the M/C or Airpack if you are loosing brake fluid. Based on your experience with the amount you are seeing, it's probably not but doesn't hurt to check..[thumbzup]
Nice write up and pics, looks like you have a fine truck there.. I have had mine about a month or two longer than you but you really have gotten into some projects with her. I am pacing myself but have done a good bit of work to her. Still feel like there is allot to learn.. Best of luck with...
CycleJay, I believe I bought a brand new spout with seal just like the one shown in the original pic except it is a shiny new spout..from Kenny Kublos when I was at the Sussex show. He may still have some, check him out at Kublo's Military Surplus
Can't be too much to ship it..
