I also agree, check the air pack. I would also pull your inspection covers on the drums. Take a peek in there and see if the shoes are greasy looking. You could have one or more wheel cylinders leaking also. just another thought ,check your rubber flex lines while you are at it they might not be...
Have You pulled the top of the trans off? You may just have a bent or worn fork. Can I ask ,Do you start in second gear.......never mind. If you have or do find that the trans is bad you might find a replacement cheaper than a rebuild. I would say $100-$500 for a good used one. in your...
The waterpump heater will transmit heat backwards to the radiator and that is where it will diffuse to the air. Then the warm air transmits to the hood through convection which is why the snow melts evenly. It will heat the water, but it has got to be the least efficient way to warm an engine...
They put that gear in there for a reason, use it or loose it! there is a key way that WILL shear off if you continue to start in 2nd. this is a well known fault of the Deuce trans. I would think with 46"tires you would need to start off in 1st and I would think you should have reasonable speed...
Midnight, straight anti freeze does not transfer heat as well as diluded, that may be the reason for the warning. distilled water is a very good idea ,it helps to eliminate scale build up in the engine cooling passages.
You can ohm out the heater and that will tell you the condition before you pull it out. Ask the parts store if they know the resistance. a 1000w heater will pull 8 to 9 amps depending on your voltage. you should also check the voltage at the outlet you are pluging it in to, high voltage could be...
I do not know about the 5ton clutch, the spline may be differant. I know some members here have that engine, maybe they will pipe up? DH? SS? I have heard of smoking the tires in pavement with it!
As You will see (pic 3-4)the Mercedes and the John Deere are block style but are screw in. the White (pic 1)which is very much the same as the multifuel is in the lower portion of the water pump 90 the blue hose is the heater hose. and the thermo siphon on the old JD. If they made a threaded...
My "Water Pump Heater" works very well. I find it funny that in My White farm tractor there is a screw in type in the bottom of the water pump 90 deg. to the radiator. This a factory heater that some engineer said would work there. I also know that after about 2 hrs you can feel the heat moving...
I have had two trucks with the C turbo. one would whistle at idle up thru the rpm range the other would only whistle above 1000 rpm's or so. Oh and if you put it on backwards it only humms:razz:
I would check the pistons for cracks. your machine shop can check the heads for cracks. there is a way to measure the stretch of the stud for re-use or replacement, but i don't know it. is it just a seep or a full blown rupture?
Lax, I may have missed it, but is the fuel that is in it from the summer? badgmc, I think there is a booster pump with the flame heater kit. you must have good pressure to atomize the fuel. the 15 psi from the in tank is not enough but getting it to that booster is important. the nozzle sprays...
Now on that filter pressure gauge, dosen't the pressure increase to like 50-60 lbs. once running? Make shure you keep your truck pointed out of the wind. Your block heater will work much better if it does not have to fight the wind. does it rung strong in the summer? you could have low nozzle...
I don't know much about the battery minder, it de-sulfates the plates? Are these the 6TL's? I have two from 06 that are crapped out. I don't know about that batt from 01' that is pretty old. I would like to see your results, might be a good investment for all the batt's i have around the farm.
