My first drive in my M51a2 was in the northern hills of Pa. I was a little disappointed, but the smoke out of the pipe was pretty cool! the truck had set for some time and had some stale fuel. i dumped in some fresh fuel and some injector cleaner and after 100 miles it seemed to run great.360...
Guy's i am planning on heading to the Atlanta Ga.area in the next two weeks. I am working out the details. could take large item down and small stuff back.i will be using a 3/4 ton cargo van with car trailer. if you need something moved and want to chip in for fuel let me know.
I bought a j-pipe for my 5 ton dump from OD Iron, after market, but good quality. I believe he has them for the Deuce. He said I would have it in 5 days and I did.
JohnyReb, I think you are refering to a connecting rod? unless I did not read the post right. Captain bill, I would check timing of IP and valve clearance. popping is usualy a valve issue like mentioned above. push rods don't usualy fall out .I would check the valve and the push rod on the one...
Yes, prime the pi**out of it. When I changed my filter ,even full of fuel it took a lot of priming. My primer looses pressure,as does some other 800 series I have messed with. The IP is realy just a big fuel pump it only makes about 190 psi give or take. Did You try to start it before You pulled...
No chains in Mi. There are some northern mid west states that allow it. Snowcrazy, wait for good weather. Do You remember running on ice in sneakers? and sliding all over? that is what it is like driving a deuce in foul weather !
I don't have an M54, but I do have a M812,M51a2 and a Deuce. The deuce is nice, great on fuel. but a five ton drives much better. The power steering is great and for some reason rides and handles better. I averaged about 7-8 mpg on a 370 mile trip. There are two differant turbos on the five ton...
Those look like the one that was in My parts deuce.it has 2 fans ,one for floor heat and one for the defrost. It was mounted on the pass side floor under the dash.it was not a bad set up,and did not seem to lose much room.
Ok, I am looking for some info on the 5 ton brake switch. I did a search and all I could find was info on the deuce brake switch and it's upgrade.I orderd a new one"updated air side" well where does it go? it look's nothing like the one I have.I do not have as much wrench time on the 5 tons.I...
I do believe wind chill is a human factor,as previously mentioned .a piece of steel at -25 is -25 at -50 wind chill. I like block heaters, this is where a shelter would come in handy to help keep the heat in. I have used either, I don't like to though.kind of a last resort.
