I haven't been able to find any info, but will admit I haven't searched that hard.
Ive only owned 1 m1028a3, I bought from the government, it had butchered & cobbled together suspension.
Frt had single wheel hubs with bolt on adapters, add a leaves...

A couple years ago, while picking up some trailers at Ft Hood,
I viewed 7-8 Cucv trucks with dual tires, no beds.
They all had spacers between the wheels.
All looked to be built that way.
All trucks were identical, except t-cases varied 205's & 208's.
Trucks were not in GL's...
These are 30 year old truck frames.
Its not rocket sience... theses frames weren't perfectly straight from the factory new.
Like it was said earlier, probably sagging springs, rotted bushings ect.
Could be a bent, racked frame BUT a tape measure is plenty accurate for this.
Spend a little...
Oh yeah, forgot about the smog tubes.
Will you post pics of them, if you don't mind ?
Ive never seen sheet metal ones.
I have an 85 p30 chassis RV that I got for the motor, axle & rear end.
Why did you choose carb over some type of efi ?
Would the stock exhaust manifolds not work ?
Stock manifolds aren't as "cool" as headers BUT it's nice not having to jack with gaskets & collectors ALL the time.
Looking forward to your build progress.
I can't give you part numbers that fit but will say this don't skimp on cheap headers.
Cheap headers = exhaust leaks & gasket replacements.
Most long tube headers fit good except for some rub the pass side shackle bolt.
So the reviews aren't that great on the bfg mt's ?
If I can ever get around to it, I'm planning on the 255's with a spacer (just like the dualed Cucv's) run.
Did you have any clearance issues with the 255's on the inner dual on the narrow axle ?
Ive got one I'll sell. It's been installed & then removed, replaced by a 3 piece one from www.totallynakedauto.com
My subscription has expired & I will post it in the for sale section as soon as I renew it.
Not hard at all, just time consuming.
Totally agree with royalflush55, It's MUCH easier on a stand vs trying to do it once in the truck.
Clean it up, maybe a little paint & RESEAL the motor while you have it out.
Keep us posted on the progression.
Wow, didn't realize it's just a short extension.
I expected a complete new tounge assy.
Did you have any clearance issues pulling it with your 5 ton ?
Nice score with the LEDs, mine had standard lights.
Thanks for the pics.
My trailer was new/unused but only came with clevis's & light cord.
Ive heard of an extended tongue for these but haven't seen or found one yet.
My duramax moves it fine but it does like to be stubborn sometimes :)
My recovery was ONLY 175 miles & that was far enough me !!!
Glad to hear your trip went good, sounds like you need some better seats :)
Would you mind posting pics of all the equipment your trailer came with ?
Ive moved my trailer with my 3/4 ton pu but have yet to hook it to my 5 ton.
Did you have any issues with turning clearances between rear of truck...
Yeah, I got a laugh out of that also.
Probably has 3.08 gears & the tow capicity of a chevette.
40 gal tank @ 45mph you could go 650 miles on a fill up, just couldn't tow anything.
