Mike-
At first it would look like you have some paint compatibility issues here but since you are going water based over enamel that seems fine. If the primer is lacquer then there are some problems when using an enamel over lacquer. Lacquer primer was used as a primer for lacquer. Lacquer...
Reflective does indeed become more aggressive over time as do all vinyls. But reflective has a 3 part lamination that will separate when it becomes old and is really a bear to remove.
After a few years the material becomes cloudy and not as reflective due to the UV. The stuff is getting better...
Mike,
Yup, RD is right on. You'll be fine with that tip. I've used that gun for every kind of paint made for the last 10 years. Actually, I have one that I use strictly for clear. And if/when it gets wore out, ya throw it away and get a new one for less than a rebuild kit for a brand name spray...
Here is how this guy did it. It is behind the battery box just like the N/A type of Deuce.
Uses a front inlet with rear/side outlet.
J-Pipe is cut and routed straight down into the front of the muffler. The outpipe exits inward toward the driveshaft has a 90 elbow and routes around the muffler...
This topic has come up before and I suggested a contest to design the sticker/logo. Put up the artwork and we can vote on it via the poll feature.
Chris and I have exchanged some PM's over the topic as well whereas I could print them up and offer them through the site here or on the cafe express...
Just when you think there may be some sanity in the world along comes another huh?
There is a guy selling a tan Deuce that parked it by near my house on the main street. Of course being nosy I had to go give it the once over. Looked to be a 71 and it said AM General on the For Sale sign. The...
Get some 3M Brand Super 77 spray adhesive, it is removable low tack - NOT THE Hi-Strength 90
16 1/2 oz spray can - black with red/white lettering -. Available at Home Depot
Spray a little on the back of the stencil and wait about 3 minutes then apply to the surface to spray. Remove right...
I've got one of them 1" HF impacts as well. Blows off lug nuts like nobody's tomorrow. Thought of putting together a 7 gal air tank for road trips like yours Kenny. I was wondering if it was gonna hold enough air from the truck line, looks like it works so I'll continue with the project...
Thanks Jon and Jim,
I took it apart again and tightened the inner nut while turning the wheel until it did not rotate quite as easily. I couldn't tighten the nut any further and I was using the 19" 3/4 drive socket wrench with the proper axle socket so that was where it ended up. Loosened it...
As always Leonard, your humor is great medicine.
I'll bring my carabineers and pitons for the assault to the to of the bed, a lunch for the summit, and a rope for rappelling down. Is there a log for the people that make it in there?
Holy Shorts-filler Leonard!!
After being there and seeing this beast in real life I have to remind you that if you are ever missing anything, call the traffic guy in the helicopter to have a look in the bed, it may be in there.
Good job, can't wait to get back up there.
It's been so long since I drove/worked on my truck it's like having a brand new toy that I can see but not touch. I'm still building the house and working 2 jobs which keeps me off this site and outa my rig a lot.
It took me a little doing to find this thread but enough violin...
See the two pictures of the ring that I posted in the post directly above.
I just picked up a rim and ring from Norman at Antelope Valley Truck. They demounted it from a tire prior to giving it to me. The ring looks just like the one pictured - ie: one side of the ring is elevated off the...

Wow, you did get lucky. I had to pay the tax when I purchased it from GL on the spot. The motor vehicle dept wanted to charge again until I was finally about to show/convince them that I had indeed paid sales tax.
As far as driving with historic plates you are also allowed to drive it for...
