    where is the correct antenna tie down point?

    Mine's mounted far back, passenger side. I have it tied off to the brush guard with braided 550 cord, and even when I do hit a low limb in my driveway, the limb gives 1st.

    In the Guard, a "troop strap" across the tailgate area qualifies as a restraint...maybe that would get you grandfathered in same as if the vehicle isn't built with seatbelts? It IS the originally designed safety equipment.
