Anyone have a source on a oil pressure gauge for an 802/803? The oil pressure gauge on my 803 died and I've been looking for one.
I found the thread with the datcon part numbers but searching the internet has only led me to 12v versions.
Any help would be much appreciated.
OH and I'll throw...
Absolutely agree with all of this. I don't feel bad when life goes on as usual at my place while the rest of the neighborhood looks like a ghost town. I planed and did 99 percent of the work myself to be prepared during an outage.
Although I am friends with some of my neighbors so I throw them...
Neighbors think I'm bragging / showing off my genny when the power goes out because I turn on every light in the house. What they don't know is I'm just trying to load her down... Hahahaha.
15k is ALOT of genny... I went with a 803(10k) and I honestly believe I could get away with a 5k. 3000sqft house, 5 people, 3 gaming systems and tvs, Central Air always running, 4500w water heater, deep freezer and two refrigerators.
The most I've ever loaded my 803 to is 75 percent and that...
No earth quakes here lol. I have a few pieces of wood as chocks but I was thinking of drilling holes in the pad and putting in anchors then tying in off to the genny sling loops.
I've thought about extending the exhaust if it ever becomes a issue, definitely a great point you bring up!
He said that if I was to use the switch, that would make the switch the first disconnect and the main panel would now be considered a sub-panel. And something about sub panels needing...
The wheels are kinda handy! They raise the unit off the ground which make maintenance easier and if I have to move her around she's somewhat mobile.
I know someone here has already built and sells a wifi controller. I'm definitely not tech savvy enough to do that. I'm more of a hardware guy...
Hello everyone I've been kinda dragging my feet on getting pictures up but here they are.
So I ran 1.25 inch conduit, the run was about 50 to 60 feet long to get from the back of the house to the side of the house. I bought one long run of 250ft of 6 gauge wire for my two hots and neutral...
Great information brother! I appreciate it. I really don't mind doing a little rigging to make something work but at this point with the generator being totally installed I would want something easy and quick, like a 55 gallon drum or a smaller drum if I'm able to find one.
Honestly I just...
The budget isn't an issue and I have tons of clearance from the ground to the bottom of the deck... The 803 is under the deck also.
I really liked alot of the transfer tanks that northern tool has but I was worried about what it would take to make it work, fabrication and such.
Looking for recommendations on a Auxiliary tank under 50 gallons that will be stored outside in Pennsylvania. It will be under a deck so not totally in the elements...
It's for a 803.
Thanks everyone
Hahaha. I remembered when I moved to Phoenix and Southwest gas refused to turn my gas on unless I was home. It was winter and cold in the house. I tried to explain to the customer service rep that I grew up all gas and had turned everything off in the house and reassured her there would be no...
The install is finally done! I'll get pictures up as soon as possible, I'm on vacation.... **** I wasn't even at the house while the electrician was there finishing the install.
Now it's time to sit back and wait for the power to go out!
I hear you. I bought a GE 200 amp DPDT switch from home depot and was ready to get this wrapped up but now it looks like I will be returning that in favor for the 80 dollar interlock.
I just want the thing operational. The old lady is starting to get pissy about the money and time sunk into a...
The electrician got back to me and said that it would be cheaper and easier to use a interlock kit that is made for my distribution panel in the house.
According to him he spoke with the inspector and was advised that by putting a disconnect outside of the house would technically make the...
Excellent replies everyone! After doing some more calling around I found a reputable company that has what sounds like a younger guy working for them.
He took the time to figure out what I was doing, asked questions and even gave me so options on how to finish the job. I went with the DPDT...
