Well that 5th wheel sits at the same height as the truck. So a 5th wheel hitch in the bed + no siderails would make a fairly sturdy connection w/o the dolly. Thanks for the info. Future project #32,347 added to the list :-D
Oh that's a dolly? Darned I thought it was integrated into the trailer. I've always wanted to custom build an off-road motor home or travel trailer for BFE camping.
Does the dolly make it "off roadable"?
This trailer is awesome. I saw it on one of the recent threads.
1-what's the name of this trailer
2-is it street legal?
3-is it a pintle hook or a 5th wheel?
4-if 2=yes,where can I find one?
I don't know about big diesel engines, but I'll tell you that Slick 50 is AMAZING in average vehicles. I used to own an Isuzu & put in a quart of Slick 50 right after a good break-in, about 13k miles. I tore the engine apart at 160K miles because of a cylinder head problem. The crank bearings...
Thanks,
I assume the BA15s base fits both front & rear.
You wouldn't happen to have a photo of them in action would you? It would be interesting to see one tail light stock & the other LED at night to compare them :-D
Those stock tail lights are awfully dim. My wife followed me 600 miles home when I bought the truck. She said she could barely see the lights. And she was right behind me!
But I agree, they want WAY too much money for the LED versions.
Do you have hyperlinks for your LED bulb source?
Here in the Nevada desert you can go from rocks to gravel to sand to fine silt to slippery shale & even to mud & snow in the mountains. You can even throw in the occasional unexpected flash flood to the mix. I've been four-wheeling around here for twenty + years & have had "oh poop" moments in...
These are all good points. I think I'm going to synthesize everyone's suggestions. I'll clean the outside of the parts & the inside of the hoses with gas to get most of the nasty, caked on grease. Then I'll run atf fluid through the other parts that weren't directly exposed to gunk. The hand...
I knew detroit lockers slipped initially but I was unaware of continued slipping during off road use. Good points. So you're looking at 3K + lots of work to fully ARB the truck. I wonder how much a qualified shop would charge to install those.
Personally, I bought the truck to modify...
So an air supply & tranny fluid takes care of the hoses before assembly. What about the pump, reservoir, control valve & ram? Should I wait until it is all assembled then flush it?
But with lockout hubs & a selectable air transfer case the detroit locker is the same as an ARB. Hubs & TC unlocked the differential isn't spinning. Hubs locked the differential spins. Why the extra headache of install & $$ for ARB up front when lockout hubs accomplish the same exact effect...
From what I understand, lockers will eat up stock axles in this truck.
Here's an article where a guy is putting ARB's in a Rockwell axle housing. The Detroit Locker would be similar work, minus the air tube stuff.

The guy...
Okay, my used scissors jack assembly came from Crysteel today. It is basically everything I need for a dump bed. Pump, control, reservoir, scissors w/dual action cylinder, prefab hinge, PTO driveline, & hoses. Everything's sitting on a pallet.
The problem is they didn't cover the ends of the...
If I could find one for a reasonable price I would. In a few years when I do a transmission swap the stock PTO is useless. So I'm trying to minimize my expense for a rear facing PTO.
More info please! I was going to buy some of the split rims to single out the truck. Is there something inherently dangerous about running them? Are single piece rims the way to go?
talk to the OEM guy who sells stuff here. He's got lockers + much stronger alloy axle shafts + lockouts.
When money affords, I'll do the same. Lockers up front & on front-rear axle, both with upgraded axles. Also lockout hubs on both for vibration/fuel/wear/handling reasons. I only need one...
