    leaky radiator caps

Having recently gone through this, your symptoms sound very familiar. I'd look at the overflow tube. I roto-rootered mine open again, or removal has been mentioned. The cap seals at the rubber inner layer, against the "shelf" that is about an inch deep in the radiator neck (below the drain...

    registering a m54

What is the history of this truck? Has it been previously registered and/or titled in NH or in any other state since it's sale from the government?

Tranny not working in Reverse need HELP

RE: Re: RE: Tranny not working in Reverse need HELP Check the parking brake. One shoe can fail to lift off of the drum properly and will "self energize" in reverse, but "self release" when going forward. BTDT. Careful pulling on it with the pickup in neutral, IF this is indeed your problem...

    Drycleaning solvent

Any civilian reference to using this is A, usually at least thirty years old, and B, by extrapolation when anything is available to work with, it usually seems to be referring more specifically to stoddard solvent or white spirits, which google likes a lot better than dry cleaning solvent...

    M35A2 Cargo Bed Bow Stowage????

Just for grins, the front side of a dropside.

    Shhh! He's incognito.

    Bad lift job?

That truck is coming unglued very shortly... The lift method can not be made safe. Even if it could be made safe in theory, the block (I believe) is inadequate as it appears to be box tube stood on end, which is a bad thing. I'm not positive on the wall thickness of that axle, but I'm...

    M35A2 Airpack?????

Never tried it- I'd suspect that it wouldn't compress well. I'd further suspect that the majority of it would collect in the first tank and be expelled with the water long before it made it to the brake booster.

    Bolt under throttle pedal?

Right in this forum is a much better, more technical explanation. I remember it, it's not that old, but I can't find it. Adjusting the bolt isn't the solution for more throttle. The pedal throw is short, but the short throw still pulls the injection pump to "wide open", after that if...

    Homegrown Tow Bar

Just a thought on that subject. If I personally had welded those, they'd probably not look so pretty and I couldn't guarantee that I'd attached 100 percent of the end of the tube, or that 100 percent of the weld had "burned in" as well as it should have. I'd plug weld for sure. Judging by the...

    Gear oil compatability

Re: RE: Gear oil compatability Do be very concerned. It's a selling point, paint on the bucket is cheap, they could paint that endorsement on a LOT of buckets for the profit margin on that one bucket that you might or might not buy from them. There are many possibilities, but odds are they...

    NO Air Out for tools

I just figure that in that in the "normal" positon they are less prone to getting pushed out of place by sticks or brush and such, and while in the "towing" position you're more than likely towing a trailer, which means more often than not you're probably at least not the first in line when...

    pintel hitch question

I've never seen the combination hitch with a swivel. I would think that it would pose a problem when using the ball hitch. Even if you do find one, I'd look for a solid mounted four bolt type.

    DEUCE spin on oil filters!!!!

On a good cold morning with good cold oil, how much pressure differential will it take to tear the element in the filter? That'll be my first concern. Another thought, the volume of oil passing the filters is very large. The bypass valve does not bypass all of the oil, just a percentage...

    Remote Brake Reservoir...Done.

The existing vent line is eliminated, (It's short, it goes to the common vent line) the new fluid line goes directly to the resivoir cap where the vent line used to be. Your new resivoir will have to be vented (to replace the missing vent from the master cylinder),

    Remote Brake Reservoir...Done.

I'm curious as well, what's the "T" in the fluid line just below the bracket? I've got one of these brewing, only in my mind as of yet. Vented with power bleeder provisions. But I like the low fluid warning. Very much so.... Dang, now I'm back at square one.

    Installing a winch system?

Trial and error. The point of the variable thickness gaskets is to make up for machining differences so that you get a little bit of backlash between the transmission countershaft gear and the PTO input gear that matches it, so it's not like there's a large difference from one to the next. The...

What Fuels Are Being Used in Multi- Fuel Engines?

The density compensator only adjusts the fuel rate. The fuel rate adjusts the response to the throttle pedal, and ultimately the overall horsepower and performance of the engine. Isn't the overall performance of the engine part of the specification of the truck? Wouldn't that mean that...

    Rear lockout hub and axle

I've decided that I'm going to "unlock" one of my rear axles. I've found hubs, but I'm having a hard time finding the double splined axle. Are these in stock somewhere or do I need to have them made. (I did find the dimensions on this site). Are there kits out there from a single supplier?
