    24v winch on a 12v vehicle

I would look into converting the winch to 12v. It's only a small electric motor. 12v or 24v motors should be avaliable for your winch. look into a motor swap, A 12v motor will cost a lot less than $500 and you could hang on to the 24v motor, if or when you put the winch on another truck.

Battery wires almost catch fire on CUCV

Like others have said check your connections. Every connection should be cleaned then use some anti oxidant coumpound at every joint. Sometimes the starter is stopped on a bad segment, When you try to start it, the starter sits on the bad segment and overheats. It may be time to have the starter...

I have a Mule on it's way from Dave. The bed is in OK shape. hndrsonj says Pull the bed off and pressure wash it. Being that I don't have the Mule as of yet, How many bolts hold the deck to the frame? It has a few small holes that need to be welded closed. Aluminum deck. I do have to get the...

Can 12 and 24 V share same ground?

Look at it this way, They are both neg. ground systems. The 12v system has a Pos and a Neg, The 24v system also has a Pos and a Neg. Pos is the Plus voltage being 12 or 24 The neg is the zero voltage . As noted by Dug He terminated the neg cables in the same spot. Just don't mix the pos voltages.

    who sells 24v generators

I've seen generators for sale in several areas. As for rebuilding one, as mentioned earlier it's not a big job. I had an extra that looked a little rough on the ouside, when opened, it was in great shape. Remember they are sealed units, and made to last just about forever.I did pick up new...

    Title help in PA

I didn't expect a snafu like the one I have with the title for my m37( silly me). When I completed my M37, I went to Northeast title and tag, I provided the info needed, the clerk was a bit lost. I was informed that I have to go to county court and request a title there. I ask a friend that's a...

    When the Dead walk again

That sounds like a good list. Most of it fits in the two cargo conpartments on the bed. A tool box painted to match the M37 sounds like a great place to keep the tools.

    Air Cleaner Question

The pipe you're talking about may be for the fording system. Does it come out just to the left of the valve access cover? If so a pipe from that would go to a valve then to the manifold. Take a look at a post a few pages back "detailed engine pictures" that may help. It' still hard to see the...

    cargo box bolts length question

Try TM 9-2320-212-20 page 2-170. I hope I have the same bolts in mind that you're looking for, Item A I didn't look at, Item G and N are the ones I think you're looking for. It says step bolt, The more common name would be carriage bolt. I took a quick look at mine. The middle one is approx...

    Slave Cable on M37

Ok I should have remembered what M543A2 had in his thread for the cable location, too excited trying to help out. One thing that's important is to remove a small amount of paint where the lug is going to be bolted on that hanger. It needs a good clean surface area to provide continuity from the...

    Brake drum removal, m37

like others said Kroil works fantastic. Also I use a 3/4 in. dia alum bar about 10 in. long and a large hammer. Several good sharp hits will loosen almost anything up. This helps and you don't damage the surface of the bolts.
