Dan,
What are the majpr differences between the A2 & A3 brake systems?
Do you have a diagram of the A3 system?
Is it a complete replacement? OR does it just require a few additional components & some extra plumbing?
THANKS!

Suggested project names:
“Major Mudder”
“Major Mayhem”
“General Gravel” (as XTreme has already suggested…)
“Corporal Crawler”
Or simply “Steel Soldier”!?
(would the website object to this?)
Any other ideas??
C'mon guys get creative!!

Ian,
Great to see you here on the SS site.
"jasonjc" is restoring a firetruck, and he has already commented on this thread (2 posts above your 1st post).
Please PM or email him & offer him that bed and any other Firetruck specific parts that you are not planning on using!
He is located in...
:ditto:YUP!
I used to have an old VW Van that marked it's territory everywhere it was parked.
Looked like it dripped a quart in every parking spot, BUT I never had to add any oil between changes!!
I SWORE it somehow MADE OIL!!!

Bill,
THANKS for posting pics of the Convoy!
Although I'm sure it was a lot of work, it looks like you did manage to have some fun along the way!
That's quite a sight at the gas station with you occupying every square foot of pavement! I'll bet the station owner saw "GREEN" :jumpin: as...
Bill,
The row of trucks looks great!
Glad to hear that you got them all shuttled home safely!
"It will be mighty restful to get back to work Monday"
That's Funny! (& understandable!)

:ditto: OH I TOTALLY AGREE with you Tim!
But you know how it can be with eBay...
Sometimes you buy something that is equal to or even better than described! [thumbzup]
And sometimes you end up with a bucket of problems and misrepresentations! aua
My thought was simply that EVEN IF this...
Q: Has anyone converted their Deuce to a dual circuit brake system?
What would it take?
Yes, while a single circuit brake system can be perfectly safe (especially when they are as well maintained as they are by SS members), it is hard to discount the added insurance afforded by having a dual...
The 3 names they suggested on the show ("Private Pebble", "General Gravel", or "Corporal Stone") all seem to suggest that this project will have something to do with ROCKS.
I'm guessing it will be an oversized Rock-Crawler!
& I'd be willing to bet that it will be a Bobbed Deuce, but we WILL...
OK, I watched again today...
When they showed the Deuce on the trailer they DID say that they are thinking BIG next year on Extreme! They also suggested project names like "Private Pebble", "General Gravel", or "Corporal Stone".
I'm looking forward to seeing THAT project!!

SOLD!! :hammer:
It went for $1351.00
I was tempted, just for the winch, tires/wheels, hard top, and spare parts.
BUT it was a little too far away, and since it wasn't running it would have been difficult/costly to move to GA.
Did anyone on here buy it??

Do you have dimensions of the tank? (Length, Width, Height, RAdius, etc.) & port locations & sizes?
I have a couple of possible applications in mind...

Just a thought...
Can you use or adapt parts from an M35 winch installation??
OR have you asked some of the M135/M211 parts suppliers (Memphis, etc.) if they have any of these parts on their shelves? More expensive that way, but might help if you get all but 1 or 2 bits...
Again, just a...
I've gotta admit, I was focusing all of my limited brain power on looking at the Deuce rather than listening to what was being said. (My EX-wife would say that this is typical of me...)
Gonna have to tune in for the last 5-minutes again today to see & HEAR what I might have missed...

It was at the VERY END of the episode titled "Towing 101" ( Episode: XT2009-18 )
This episode will replay at 12:30pm on Sunday 19July.
(I don't remember any mention of an upcoming project... I thought they were just using it to demonstrate a HEAVY trailering load...)

Here's what I have gathered from this thread (& other sources) thus far....
Can someone please help to complete (or correct) the list??

1950-19?? REO (M34 then M35)
