Just a thought:
Back in the mid 80's, I was a mechanic in a transportation unit. M1009 Operators kept breaking the 3 lever military tactical light switches. Sometimes the levers would break externally, but more often than not, the lever would break internally. This was mostly due to...
Thanks for the info ranchhopper, I was curious. I figured that some city laws place parking restrictions etc too. I know of several places that wont even allow a tow truck owner to park their vehicles in the owner's drive ways. I'd like to get one too, but I just cant think of where to park it...
Just a couple of questions. . .
Why did you bob your tuck. Looks nice, just wondering. Also, why didn't you use the original bed? Couldn't you just cut out a section of the bed and welded the tailgate and edge back on?
Thanks, just curious,
There was an old man being interviewed on TV. He said he was real close when it happened and that he saw the crew eject. He also said when they ejected, the neigboring buildings were higher than the jet was. They couldn't have been in the plane any longer than what they had.

At the taillights themselves, for trailers. . . the wiring caps, are they male or female ends?
The Harness on my M101 trailer is no longer serviceable. The pigtail is like new, its the wires that are between the pigtail and taillights that is . . .rotten rubber, causing shorts. Its a real...
Thank you for the info. . . The trailers in my old Army unit did not have either brake system on them. I guess either I was in a In a cheapo unit or I predated that stuff. . . or I'm just older than I thought.:deadhorse:
I have seen several posts about "brake-away" brakes and "surge" brakes for m-101 trailers. Are folks calling the same things by different names or are they different things? It seems as though some a1's, a2's and a3's have surge brakes and others do not. My GL trailer does not have the large box...
Nice post! Some, I have a military manual for the "proper" way to camo M, M and others. It is a a diagram, showing the side view and a top views of vehicles. If I can find it within the next week or two, I will see if I can scan it and post it here. It is an actual military manual for the...
I prefer the stuff it makes people wonder about. . . .
It like a text from a friend of mine, It was a picture of a retired police cruiser. Written on the back of it was "UFO RESPONSE UNIT"
That stenciled on a military vehicle will get some interesting looks and make people wonder.
I am sorry for the problems in WI, but I am just curious about a couple of things.
If they can void out the title or license to your military vehicles, isn't that like a forced forfeiture? IE imminent domain? Wouldn't they have to give you a lot of money for your vehicle, I mean they are rare...
If a person had a place with scrapped out military vehicles, they can make some money off this.
In case of a scrapped trailer, selling the pigtail harness, with maybe a couple feet of wire attached and incase of a vehicle, selling the harness with foot of wire attached, as well.
From...
Where did you hook the safety chains when towing a CUCV? From one CUCV to another, the leader still has the footman's loop near the pintle hook, but since your using the loops at the front for the drawbar, where do you hook the chains to?
I had Always loved the tow-bars we had in our unit...
I have a M-101 A1 trailer. I bought it for its off road capabilities from Govliguidators. It had brand new tires, bows, racks, pig-tail and wiring harness. etc. The trailor itself was about the only used part on it. (The tires still had the stickers them, but had no spare).
Long ago, I had...
