    M1009 air conditioning

Am getting ready to install the Nastalgic Air system. Looks like a simple straight forward installation. It took the a little bit to get all the parts together since their company has recently relocated. Found a 30 year old to help out. When you push over 50, younger help comes in handy.

I honestly love getting buzzed but give me some notice....

I have lived my whole life working in aviation. Both military and civilian. When 911 occurred and our FedEx fleet stopped taking off, my wife and I could not sleep. We're only 1/2 mile off the end of a runway. The sounds and smell of jet A is comforting to us. As far as Med-a-vac or search and...

    CUCV emissions restrictions in California

I had to take my M1009 through inspection for Memphis. No emissions testing because of the vehicle age. They did check all the lights, horn, e-brake and they insisted on a interior rear view mirror. So I put one on. Actually, due to my physical limitations, the mirror makes it easier for me; but...

    CUCV in action

In the Army we used strap or cable. But if chain is what you have, you have to be super careful. We were towing a Chevett across a yard with one wheel damaged and not turning. That big chain snapped and fired through the windshield. Lucky for us, it just meant more work and no one was hurt...

    CUCV emissions restrictions in California

In Memphis TN the laws are similar. Due to the age and weight of my 1986 M1009, the emissions test was not required. Only the normall safety inspection. I had to install an interior rear view mirror. That was about it. Also did not register it as historic, because of the many restrictions...

New M1009 Owner in Memphis TN

This site has been a great resource for bumping my memory and finding a nice M1009. Big Thanks to all the posters out there. I would of liked a M35 or M561, but need something more practical, that my wife could drive on occasion too. When we test drove a M1009 she was impressed. To her it was...
