Am getting ready to install the Nastalgic Air system. Looks like a simple straight forward installation. It took the a little bit to get all the parts together since their company has recently relocated. Found a 30 year old to help out. When you push over 50, younger help comes in handy.

My son-in-law found shipping documents that had listed the VIN and Units in 1986 and 87. Carnac had the 1988 information.

I had to take my M1009 through inspection for Memphis. No emissions testing because of the vehicle age. They did check all the lights, horn, e-brake and they insisted on a interior rear view mirror. So I put one on. Actually, due to my physical limitations, the mirror makes it easier for me; but...
In the Army we used strap or cable. But if chain is what you have, you have to be super careful. We were towing a Chevett across a yard with one wheel damaged and not turning. That big chain snapped and fired through the windshield. Lucky for us, it just meant more work and no one was hurt...
In Memphis TN the laws are similar. Due to the age and weight of my 1986 M1009, the emissions test was not required. Only the normall safety inspection. I had to install an interior rear view mirror. That was about it.
Also did not register it as historic, because of the many restrictions...
