Not a clue. But I will tell you I had 1 lock up on my way to SC a few years back. Pulled into a truck stop. Guy grabbed a brake chamber off the shelf . cut a 1" off the shaft .Bolted it on . adjusted the brakes and away I went.
Sounds like a very incompetent electrician to me . If it did burn up the smell would be unbearable. On the old windings they would lacquer the windings in a brownish clear coat. Makes me wonder if the guy had ever seen a older gen before.
My old mep003a would puff smoke on 1 bank but not the other. It would clear up after about a half hr. I think mine was using a bit of oil about a half quart about every 20 hrs. but it ran well. have you tried fresh fuel and a bottle of seafoam?
M915.m916. M917. M918.m919. And m920 all share the same radiator. I have a used 1 that was good when pulled . But it has been in storage and moved a few times.
Update time, I found that the little key on the end of the throttle cam was laying loose in the pump. So the throttle was not controlling the fuel flow, and would explain why I wasn't getting fuel. That's the good news. While trying to rotate the engine to set timing I noticed ( injector pump...
I also noticed the injector pump has a small drip type leak . But I haven't been able to pin point it other than it doesn't seem to be coming from the lines or the center cap. But the bottom left of the pump drips slowly? ?
The new pump didn't have a timing button lol I had installed it on Saturday and no fuel. So Gimpy reminder me to swap them. When I took the plunger out on the new pump it was missing it. So I put the 1 from the old pump on it.
New fuel filters . And ran about 2 gallons thru the line to the pump before hooking everything up. The stream coming to the injector pump shoots a good 3 ft. The auxiliary pump doesn't work. I found a broken wire to it. Need to fix that next. But the other 2 pumps run and seem to move...
I have pulled the feed line to the pump and it was a very strong stream. I did try bleeding again. But seemed like I wasn't getting fuel. I had flushed everything out 3 times. But perhaps something got thru. I'm going to pull it all apart again on Thursday or Friday. I'm just not sure...
