    Find a Zerostart catalog, commercial part. Find a big truck parts house near you, go in and introduce yourself and tell them what you have (truck and engine type). They will be your new best friends. JC

    distorted nuts = friction lock nuts or (lock nuts) . Also read in the manual , (either the M939 or M35A3) Do not use RTV on the O ring as a sealing agent.

    Check and tighten all the clamps in the induction system. Look for a little soot around the hoses.

    Crane would work, keep the MRAP spare in the front on the bed. I have a NOS Fassi Crane still in the crate, intended for the Buffalo MRAP, my plans have changed , I have M936 now.

    Definitely need to read the operators manual; glow plugs and ether assist start system DO NOT exist on the same engine. Big truck parts house carry replacement ether bottles. You may want to invest in a block heater for your CAT, not to expensive, easy to install. Plug in the night before you...

    I've seen the heater intake plumbed to that hole on several trucks. Some also have a intake scoop also.

    Nice truck, what a monster, an in-frame rebuild on the offending cylider,(new main bearings), if the crank isn't damaged will be alot easier. Diffentially keep it at your brother's place, because the nieghbor will definitely willl say , What the heck??

    Find the right body shop. There are patch panels for that truck. Cut that corner out, weld in new panel corner, paint to match.

    Will welding to the top of a shackle pin damage its temper?

    Zane, Go ahead and tack weld them on. That pin will not get hot enough to affect it strength. It's just a tack weld.
