The truck, if in good shape, not abused, and properly maintained, will out last you. Your daughter will be driving in parades. These trucks are big, parts are heavy ( and a little expensive). You currently do not own tools big enough to maintain it. -and the state you will in will probably...
The batteries are Group 34 or 34m. Good prices on the web. Optima battery adapter (p/n 240046) I got mine from the nice people at Military Battery Systems (milbatteries.com).
Google is your friend. Lots of info out there.
You will hurt yourself in the long run. Part of operating heavy equipment/big trucks is the ability to maintain them, that may take a certain investment in tooling and support equipment. The payback in acquiring the right tools for the job is directly proportional to time saved and wear and tear...
No oil filter but there is an oil screen. Lower left on the fuel pump side. Black cap with a retaining bolt. Pull the screen when you drain the oil. Spray it clean and reinstall.

Follow Ron's advise, a little patience and a lot of PB Blaster. Make sure you use a 6 point socket. I've gotten those and exhaust muffler flange bolts out with no problems. Lots of PB Blaster.
Walter, way to go, minimal mess is always good. Consider yourself a 91 Bravo. Take the truck out for a good drive and get it warmed up, then check it again on level ground. Where in Cook Co do you reside? I was born and raised on the So. Side of Chicago.
-or is time to buy one of those handy-dandy torque multipliers, they really work. I had the same issue with an old spare deuce axle, 3/4" inch impact won't budge it. The T/Multiplier backed them right off.
Welcome from Kentucky. Congrats on your new truck. Source a hard copy of the operator's manual and read it. Keep it in the truck for reference. Drive it conversantly to avoid the panic stop. Has the engine oil filter canister been modified to the spin on filter? If not , I have them listed in...
