I am in Palm Bay, which is about 200 miles from your current location. If you made it to Volusia, say Port Orange/Daytona area; I could flat tow you from there to Vero or Ft Piece. Maybe Kenny could take over from there? Do you have a tow bar? Did you leave your trailer somewhere already?
WOW. As one low mileage CUCV owner to another, keep an eye on your injection pump.
When these trucks sit, its one of the first things to go.
I dont think I've ever seen a photo of a CUCV with the pioneer tools behind the seat. Very nice!
No idea what the push button is for, glow plugs maybe? The meter sounds like the standard CUCV voltage gauge for the charging system. Use the TM to troubleshoot.
As for the push button, trace the wires to figure out what it is for.
On my M1031, they ran the wire up the side pillar and inside the roof. The wire for the spot light on the M1010 is done the same way.
If you remove the visor, you can work with the wire easier and feed it across to a hole. A thin fish tape will help as well.
Edit: those threaded rivets are...
How do you know? Not that it is a point I am trying to make, just curious.

I believe wholeheartedly in capitalism. Anyone that reads any of my Craigslist or Ebay ads will vouch for that. I expect to make money on investments. Personally, I was not questioning the price. In fact, it...
When a new pump is installed, one would normally adjust the timing.
I agree with Kenny that pump timing is the deciding factor. There is one way to check, make some adjustments. As long as you mark a starting point, you have a reference to go back to.
Loosen the three pump mounting bolts and...
I always wonder on the trucks this guy sells...the fact the rebuild tags appear to be added after the paint is suspect. The paint all over the engine is also suspect in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, they look real nice in the photos. Personally, I'd want to see some before and after pics.
On a cucv, I mount the solar panel on the hood. I use rubber grommets for the bolt holes and the smaller hole for the wire.
I also attach the battery side wires to the batteries and not the firewall terminal blocks. Not the best photo attached, but you'll get the idea where I like to mount them.
You most likely have a blown head gasket that is pressurizing the oil pan.
I had the same EXACT issue with one of my CUCVs. I changed the rear main and redid the pan at least three times before I swapped out the engine. I also had excessive pressure in my cooling system.
I still need to tear...
Looks like you all had a good time! I'm going to have to make it to one of the Richloam events so you guys can have a CUCV in your contingent. My M1009 will be easier to pull out of a hole than that 5ton!
Where did you buy said folding step? I've had one on my to buy list for a while and after reading this thread will get one tomorrow. The thought of how much the OPs break must of hurt is enough motivation for me.
That and my wife keeps getting mad when I stand on the recycle containers! The...
If you need it, the OP has after market replacements for sale.
However, you might want to verify the settings and setup thoroughly before declaring your system as inop.
One of my M1031s had an issue and it turned out to be a jumper wire some monkey installed from a hot 12v to the gov actuator...
I dont think the M1008 came with the piece on the door you describe. I have only seen M1009s with this added piece screwed to the upper door/window assembly. Not to say you couldn't add it yourself, I just don't think it was stock. Just like the drip rail you only find on M1009s. You could add...
One more thing, if the fender is rubbing you need to pull the front edge of the door inward as you lift upward to tighten. The further inward the door is, the less likely it is to rub on the fender. Have a second friend push in on the outside front edge while you tighten.
One man can do the...
Try this: With the door completely open, before you tighten the bolts all the way down, have a friend lift the end of the door, while using your knee to lift the inner edge, tighten the bolts.
Marking the hinge to the door would have helped you re-align everything. A good ole sharpie works well...
