Dave, I do have a Mite spare rim and tire. So the round plate is nothing more than that? Just a round piece of 1/8" steel with a notch? Kenny Even though the Mites can be driven on three wheels, having a spare is nice and it makes the Mite look cool too. Thanks!

Jim, I had a piece of flat steel and made my own but it is square. I put the notch in it but I would like to duplicate the original. If you can get a diameter, that would be great. Witht the Mite being so small, not being able to open the tailgate is not a big deal. Besides, it looks better...

I had no problem insuring my U1300L in New Jersey and Nevada. I had Liberty Mutual in NJ, Progressive in NV. My agent in Nevada only asked me if it was a Pinzgauer because they won't insure those. Oh...I had commercial insurance in both states.

Were fuel cans ever mounted to a Mighty Mite? If so, where would they go? My guess is on the rear next to the spare tire. I'm thinking of putting one there. Thanks!

Jake, Thanks...your post made sense. Of course, my other systems are in top shape and I know it is simply a matter of not enough air. I've had turbo diesel trucks at this altitude and they usually started just fine. This is my first experience with a non turbo. The truck has over 100K on it...

A turbo is time and money. Neither of which is a luxury right now. I'm trying to find a simple fix. Would rebuilding the IP be a good idea?

I priced a new turbo and at $1700, it is way out of my price range. I would like to fix the problem without too much expense.

RE: I found the source of the problem! I have a friend who swapped the glow plug relay for the starter relay. It takes a little modifying but he said it solves the starter relay problem permanently. I've replaced two of mine in the past year already.

Oh...and swapping gears out will not give your buddy 65mph, especially on a 406 or 416. If he wants to do 65mph...he needs an SBU with super fast axles and the turbo diesel engine. They have three different axles: Normal, Fast, and Super Fast. I had Fast axles in mine. The 406 or 416...
