    Rear receiver mount question

This worked for me on my M1008. After inspecting how the bumper and related assembly is mounted to the frame, I believe there is plenty of strength in the metal plate below the stock pintle assembly. The fleetside bumper for the c/k model trucks of the mid 80s is typically rated for 800 lbs of...

Oh no! What have I done? My new M1010

I am thinking about bed lining the interior of my M1010. It seems to work well in my other trucks and keeps the heat down. That would be step one. Step two would be to create a removable baffle duct setup that will attach to the front of the AC and redirect the cool air into the cab. Fans dont...

    full length 4x4 deuce

I didn't get any photos when I saw Justin's truck in person, but he sent me these yesterday. I will try to get him to post some better ones here. The truck was lifted with blocks welded to the top of the axle.

How do I remove the top of my door panel?

There are no spring clips holding the door panel on a CUCV. Remove the screws along the outer edge of panel. remove the screw behind the door handle. Remove the screws in the arm rest. Remove the spring clip for the window crank handle. At this point you should be able to pull out on the bottom...

24V starters and solenoids on eBay, are they good?

I'd have a stock starter rebuilt before buying a newer after market item any day. Around here, I can get starters rebuilt for under $100 and that is with a new solenoid. Of course, I know my local auto electric guy pretty well so he doesn't gouge me.

    Battery disconnect switch

I have much respect for you Doghead, but I also "write" from experience. No offense is or was intended to anyone. A naysayer is not a derogatory term. Yes - I agree that could happen as evidenced when removing the front bat neg during a "run on" situation. Fusible links on the 12v side will...

    Battery disconnect switch

If you plan to install a disconnect, keep it under the hood. Use a marine rated switch such as the Blue Sea Systems 9003E. The 9003E is rated for 350 Amps and is designed as a disconnect for use with diesel engines. The #3000 model is rated for 500-600amps if you wanted something heavier. I...

    M1010 Ambulance Picked up

Sorry if I came off rude, it was not my intention. The M1010 is a unique vehicle in regards to its charging system. There are a lot of rumors and misguided information out there. I own a M1010 and have it figured out completely.

    M1010 Ambulance Picked up

Ok..now that I have prevented you from potentially electrocuting yourself and/or welding your self to your truck I can explain your potential problems. 1: The little blue box(es) on your driver side engine compartment make up what is called a "Duvac". Your truck if it is stock will have [2]...

    Need help with speaker selection...

If he buys the 3.5" speakers from Crutchfield, they will include the brackets for free. Plan on adding some 6.5" speakers to your doors or some surface mounts in the back.
