Justin's truck should be done in about 2-3 weeks. I am going to take some photos when I see it next week. Guy's name building it is Jerry and it might be him in the original video posted at the start of this thread. It looks really close to a grainy photo I posted a while back of Jerry's truck...
Fellow PTO M1031 owners....today I was working on my gov system and with a little googling found the manufacturer tech manual for both the governor control and the actuator! Google "dyna 8000 install" and you will find the same manual I have attached here.
Also, an interesting tidbit: to...
For the black trim around your gauges, use peanut butter. Yes...really...it works...do I really have to specify... creamy not crunchy....
Obviously remove the piece before attempting this as you will want HOT water to remove the peanut butter residue. The oil in the PB is what makes the...
You guys have panel clips on your door panels?!? I've taken apart a few CUCV door panels and never seen a single push in clip. They aren't in the TM either.
There are one or two screws that hold the arm rest, one behind the door handle, and half a dozen or so around the edges. Then the little...
Muncie told me to use a distributor and sent me a list of them in FL.
Part number: 31T35108
If you ever need the mag pickup, you can email Muncie for distributors in your area.
I think I have a bad one, but am going to try swapping parts from another truck before I spend $80 on a new part.
Blue box on driver side engine compartment? If so, then that is stock from the factory.
Whether it is the original DUVAC or an after market battery equalizer, it is required.
Your alternator should be a 24v Leece Neville (large and red typically) which is why you need a converter for stable 12v...
I do agree. I would not run your house from it during an outage.
If you want to convert the generator to single phase, you can use the attached manual to figure out the wiring changes needed. This would be in the generator housing. See pages 9 & 10. I would choose diagram G which gives you...
Did you guys rewire the generator or just the panel innards?
I know the actual generator can be rewired for single phase as opposed to the stock 3 phase setup.
If only the panel was rewired, you need to watch for out of balance conditions as it may cause some damage to the generator.
He said it is a M1010....maybe someone removed the duvac and installed a battery equalizer which would be the 24v to 12v converter he is talking about.....
With that said, use the front battery POS terminal ( or rear battery NEG terminal ) to get your 12v power. If there is a battery equalizer...
What about a local radiator shop? Support local business when you can! I was able to find one for my M1031 locally for less than your rockauto price above.
Same glow plugs are used in the M1008, M1009, M1010, M1031.....all the CUCV 6.2L engines.
Welman 070 or Delco 13G are the correct plugs with the proper terminal. The 60G plugs do not have the proper spade connector.
If you cant find the proper plugs locally, Ebay has them.
What is it your having trouble with? Remove the black trim from the front of the instrument cluster, then remove the 4 small screws on the bottom lip of the dash pad, and remove the screw on the passenger side of the dash pad. It should slide right out.
When removing the black trim, it helps...
