I wrote that..but I need to make one edit. Per the TM, anaerobic sealant should be used on the bearing cap not RTV. Page 3-112 in the -34 TM: "Apply a thin film of anaerobic sealing compound (2) to rear main bearing cap (1) in pattern shown."

Super easy job once the brake drum is removed. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to rebuild and the OD kits work perfect. Get a honing tool...they are cheap and for the extra couple minutes it takes to hone, you will have piece of mind of a job well done.

By the way, I had this information readily available as the same relay was bad in my truck. It controls the compressor clutch and when bad allows the clutch to always be engaged.

Your '87 was originally sold out of Warner Robbins if I am not mistaken. I don't know what the deal is with trucks from there, but I have seen and heard of more than a few that have had similar issues with gelled gunk in the fuel. I dealt with one myself last year...and it was NASTY...

For me, it was a warped rotor. While I was at it, I replaced my leaking axle shaft seals, pinion seal, spindle bearings and seals, wheel bearings and seals, had my rotors turned, installed new brake pads, and replaced my broken hubs. My '08 is running great! I am glad I tore down my front axle...
