It's bascially an M1061 5ton trailer with a dropped deck. I had two of them, sold one to Cabell. The data plate that I had on both of mine said it was a TR-100 trailer. These are very heavy and you need a deuce or bigger to pull them. They can get squirrely on the road also because the tonge...
More Mite in the snow pics
I decided to see what the Mite could do in snow so I played in my parking lot. What bette place to get stuck than at home with another vehicle to pull me out? I only got stuck twice on the 3' high piles because I wasn't going fast enough to barrel through them...
RE: yup...
So what would be the best way to increase the amount of air to the engine? Living at higher altitudes causes a loss in power and mileage for me. Would changing the exhaust increase power and mileage?
This is my car that I bought in NJ on eBay. I've driven it across the country twice and had most police officers wave to me. I did get stopped in Wyoming for speeding and the officer asked why I didn't paint over the decals. I wonder if this were registerd as an antique vehicle? Would I be...

You can't go wrong when dealing with Bill Peaselee. He's been in the hobby for many years. Based out of New York, he covers everything east of the Mississippi. He's a real easy going and friendly guy.

You fellas are worried about the cost of diesel? Well, I've attended the convoy for the past five years. Two of my trips including flying from Nevada. This year I will be flying in again. If you want to do something bad enough, you will find a way to pay for it.
I'll probably get my head bitten off for recommending other sites but these dealers may be able to help too:

There is a big Freightliner/Unimog dealer in Salt Lake City that may have a manual for you. I'll check with another U500 owner and see if he has manuals.
I've tried it with a vehicle and a jumper pack. If the batteries are really dead, it won't work. But you are correct, putting juice to the front battery does help and can get you started.
I've tried jump starting with a 12v system and sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. I've had better luck using another 24v vehicle and jumping from both batteries. I really need to get a slave cable adapter!
