Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

L1A1.....The FS numbers can be mixed at almost any paint formulator....they all have the information if they are smart enough to access it. Behr seems to be very good quality, but almost any hardware has access to the formula by the FS number. I've taken it a step further and paint my house...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

No, most is dated. GL has not had the contract for a loooong time and sales of 1101 and 1102 at Government Planet have about dried up.

Buying a Deuce: GL or Civilian?

Original poster MIA. You snooze you loose....that won't last long.

So new 1971 Deuce delivered today. No spare, odd size tires on it.

Ben....One of the guys that bought (2) 5 tons from me traded 6 of them in Firestone on 6 lug bud rims. Two of the rims had less offset and must have been front. Tires were old but in great shape. When M105's were plentiful from GL I bought several that had new 9.00 on them. I put the new...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Yep....looks like two traffic lights. If I'm seen on the roads (being one of the slowest vehicles), it will be worth it to avoid being rear ended. I have not seen a green lens yet. Every light there (and new ones on the front) will have a 3 wire SO cord going to it from the (added) control...

Buying a Deuce: GL or Civilian?

Man, there was a super nice one in the classified not to far from you. If I had the money I would buy it. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?189733-1989-quot-Air-Force-quot-M35A2C

    Towing 5-ton with running engine

The sprag relieves tension between a rear end trying to over-run the front. It's like a 16 to 17 ratio on gears in the TC and the sprag relieves the difference. It's a one way clutch...in fact it is two one way clutches, one relieves one direction and one relieves the other. It's on the front...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

    removed for your protection

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Those look like nice trucks. I liked mine... did a lot of work with it. Don't forget the radiator cover....a rock or stick into the open area would not be good and this stuff is cheap. I'd gladly give up my M929A2 for one of the 7 ton dumps.

Thoughts on the onslaught of State Laws that Pull us of the road

Public auctions that compete one buyer against the next, that have no specific requirements to bid (like a dealers license), are considered to bring fair market value. Anyone can bid...making the sales fully public and clearly at inflated retail, prices. I know the HMMWV issues and have...

Thoughts on the onslaught of State Laws that Pull us of the road

So the government intent was and is to sell surplus vehicles at full market price without the disclaimer (sure some HMMWV;s had the disclaimer) and then stop letting us use them because the manufacturers association is against having them on the road. One has to love a planned deception ... our...

Air wont build up bleeds off thru intake

With the sound of air coming out the intake, it sounds like a stuck (open) pressure relief on the compressor head.

    M813/818 Questions for New Guy

I'm with Wes on the value (and model). My suggestion is a deuce to stay well under the 26,000#. In Penn, that may be more of an issue than in Indiana (farm use), so will make the larger truck more expensive from every angle. If you are intent on a 5 ton, Like Wes says, the later 939 series...

    5 ton wheels

365/85r20 is another option....about 2" shorter than the 395 and I see some reasonable prices on XZL Michelins.

    Cutting an M105 bed?

Yea. the corner is a huge part of the M105 structure. But if you have one that has the extra reinforcements, that might help. Is there room for it under the frame? Maybe split the crane and mount the crane in the back right corner of the bed and put the tire rack in the front of the (uncut)...

M35a2 air compressor upgrades and air governor leaks?

How about some pictures? Don't forget that portable air tanks, like you air up and go use on a tire, can provide you more storage capacity and are cheap. I use them at the ends of long lines in pneumatic locks. I recommend priming the inside as I don't think they are rust-proofed. I'll...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

It's nice to come out and not see it sitting on flats. Hard to believe someone was critical since they are not the $900 each (new date codes) ones. Glad Rodney's guys took care of you. Have you considered flipping to dish out on the rear?
