    crossing border (canada)

As above, call the crossing that you will use, and ask your questions. Then be sure to ask for and get the the Officer's name or badge number. Take notes on the conversation. Is the transaction going to be in Canada? If so, you may have to pay GST Tax. That might be a big lump! If so...

    M37 door skin crack repair

I suppose I will be. I was here for the last one. When I was a Kid, I worked for a long time, while going to school, for a welder that worked here, on the Highway in 1941. His section was between Tok and Fairbanks. He told lots of stories, especially about crossing the rivers and Shaw...

    M37 door skin crack repair

The doors are around. Dodgedoughak, there are moose around too. I once had a Guy back into the door of my M37. It ruined the outside. I had a parts truck that had a good outside door skin, but the inside was ruined. I took the guts out of them and carefully un-crimped the inside from the...

    Imron paint

Yeah - flat.... I forget how its done, but I think its a clear-coat, over the top of a color. Mostly its done on the hoods, to cut the glare.

    Imron paint

Don't use Imron, unless your going to go down to bare metal (sandblast) and start from scratch. Its too expensive not to do a good job all the way through. My transport truck has had red on it - Imron, and is still holding up well for the last 20 years. Maybe it will start to fade in the next 20

    M37 door skin crack repair

Its cracking because of vibration - brass is terrible for that application. In fact, any heat will distort that door skin, especially welding. Your going to be better off, just getting another door.

    Missing a plug here?

If the rear main seal leaks, you'll get seepage. If you fill the transmission to the fill plug hole, you will get gear lube leaking forward that can cause your clutch to slip in the top gears. Run your tranny about one knuckle joint low. Every time I see some one take a Deuce mudding, I think...

    Questions on my new toys-M211 & M135

Any modification will be a tremendous amount of work. The results questionable. Most modifications like that are never completed, because of time and money. The engines are the same and can be re-built! Tune ups must include valve adjustments to the solid lifters. Good luck Lee

    Accessory Plug

12 Volts - I just ran it from the second battery. It is used so seldom that I didn't think it would cause too much of an in-balance in the system. Otherwise I try to run stuff on 24V. That's why I mentioned the phone/GPS chargers. Up here, you may well have Cell coverage, but you can be a...

    Accessory Plug

Its an electric brake controller. I use it on a small 12,000# equipment trailer. I have always seen those accessory plugs, and wondered what they were meant to power?

    Accessory Plug

What is the accessory power plug for, commonly found on the dash (with the hanging cap)? There is also one of these on my M37. What does the other half of the plug look like? Below, to fit in the existing hole, I'll install the 24 V cigarette lighter. Both my cell phone and GPS unit input is...

    Almost destroyed my truck..

It will take a good day to clean that stuff out of there and re-service it, much less do the repairs. All the important stuff is under neath. Its hard to get the mud out from the frame rails. When left there, it takes a toll on the steel brake lines and even the wiring. Its tough cleaning...

    Deuce fuel pump question

And the submersible has a rather powerful motor to handle that sort of thing. Much stronger then the in-line pumps.

M116A2 Rusted Master Cylinder - Total loss?

Disconnect the outlet line and look. It won't be the first that needs to be rebuilt! Is the rest of the system/ line intact? You have to look underneath, to see that.

    M211 - Too Slow

I can't believe this.... The absolute first thing your do in trouble shooting an engine, is to set the valves!!!! You can't do anything else, and expect meaningful results, until you set the valves in an engine with mechanical lifters. You don't tune up an engine, like this, unless the valves...

    Abandoned M135

It seems to have civy tires. A lot better then NDT's

Towing a commercial trailer with an M-series 5-Ton

I don't want to steel the thread, but my Garmin GPS cigarette lighter adapter input is 10 to 30 DCV. Output is 5 DCV. A 24V lighter socket works great!
