    Insurance!!

My local agent tried dealing direct with Travelers and there was nothing available. Seems like Gulfway has some special arrangement with them. Gulfway worked for me.

    The Deuce is Dead...

An easier way to check for draws is disconnecting the negative battery cable at the battery and putting a volt meter or test light in the circuit between the battery post and cable end (or any ground). With everything off, there should be no voltage reading or test light glow. The volt meter...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

The camo or Strata Blue would both make a great looking truck. I'm kind of fond of the all green version. Friends in during that era tell me most of the AF Deuces they remember were OD, not camo. Forest green seems like it would work well but I'd really like to know what it was originally...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

After reading many different posts on the subject, I'm still trying to determine the correct green for a 1985 Air Force M35A2. Some seem to think 34127 Forest Green. others 34079 Dark Green, and others 383 CARC. Any Air Foce guys with memories of the era? Thanks, Dave

    Insurance!!

I've recently been through the same situation. In the end, it was Gulfway for me also. It is collector insurance on a commercial policy. It is full coverage insurance. No garage required. No hauling or towing allowed. Your rates may vary due to location, insured value of the vehicle and...

    What is this bracket for?

Thanks for all the help. Seems like the mount is about the price of a truck. An M2 would look great up there though.

    What is this bracket for?

Thank you. Were these fit to all trucks or just those that had gun rings? Are gun ring assemblies available anywhere?

    What is this bracket for?

This bracket / mount is just ahead of the right side door and behind the exhaust stack. I've searched the manuals and come up blank. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

The Deuce is in the driveway. A nice 50 mile drive home. Everything went well. Ear to ear grin all the way. What a kick to drive. Wish I had it last weekend so I could have gone to Haspin today. I sure hope to make the next one.:driver:

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

It seems this thread will have a happy ending after all. The Duece is coming home Sunday. Gulfway did an excellent job on the insurance coverage. A big thumbs up to them. My normal agent hadn't a clue... Title, temporary tags and insurance ID card are in hand. It will be a long wait until Sunday...

    M35A2 Insurance.. Got it!

After a lot of time chasing my tail trying to insure a Deuce resonably, Gulfway has been the choice. Either Carol or Donna seem to have it under control. They were a pleasure to deal with. The application and check were mailed yesterday. We'll see how it goes.

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

By all previous intentions, this truck shoul be in my drive now. I had cash in hand Friday and was willing to hand it over. The last minute dissappointment from my insurance agent sent me home empty handed. Things usually happen for a reason. Some that may not be apparent to me at this time...

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

Gulfway quote was just under 250 a year with 1000 deductable. That is doable. Too many other negatives for a vehicle with such limited use. It seems these things are real white elephants as well. Many for sale but none really selling. If you wanted to part with one the scrap yard is likely the...

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

Gulfway will insure it but not as resonably as verbally quoted. All in all, this is not worth the very limited use the truck would see. A garage would have made it a different story. That's what this thread was for though. To explore the possibility. It's not in the cards for me. This truck is...

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

Hagerty, like most others, also specifies garage parking. I talked to Gulfway. The most reasonable folks to talk to so far. They should have an official quote in a day. My fingers are crossed for the last time.

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

I was just advised by State Farm that they are unable to write a personal policy for this truck. This endeavor is behind me. No more wasted time chasing my tail. Thanks all.

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

I think this truck just wasn't meant to be. Condon & Skelly, Hagerty and American Collector Ins. all have the condition the vehicle must be stored in a secured garage. Liability only isn't an option. In addition, Hagerty wouldn't insure it because it is "too new". Too new...26 years old???? The...

    Advice on Deuce purchase.

I appreciate all the advice concerning insurance. My biggest disappointment has been the incompetence of my own insurance agent. Twice I've been told I could get coverage at a resonable rate. In the end that has quadrupled (assuming that she really can do it). I first looked at this truck last...
