Just good preventative maintenance while you have the hub exposed. Any heat damage to hub? Front or rear axle? real easy to pull the cap/axle and inspect condition of bearing/grease. When is the last time you serviced the bearings?

A little trouble shooting will help; are the brakes actually engaged? Treadle valve (brake pedal) bypassing (hissing)? Find the brake light switch and meter it out. Most likely the pressure switch.

I've had success with the spray on tire cleaner/foam. Use a large sponge to wipe the access off. Doesn't collect dust after it dries. Great for engine/compartments.
Get a copy of Trade -A- Plane. best source for that kind of equipment. You would do better to purchase an airworthy aircraft. It will cost millions to restore a "salvageable" unit.
