Welcome from Mississippi!
Welcome aboard, congrats on the purchase! Looks like a good CUCV. Have you downloaded the TM's for it yet? They list everything on your CUCV. Keep us posted on what you find with your front drive.
Cucvnut, I'll be back to the Shattered Socket in a couple days......... top of my "to-do" list---look for the part. I'll keep you posted. Looks like a good start. Keep us updated.:grd:

Isn't jealousy a bad thing? Wow, that is an awesome build! Like Heath, I only got a little bit into your build thread and I'm WAY impressed! Thanks for sharing this!

Commander,
Man I'm sorry to hear it was a raw deal........but at least you didn't MAKE a deal, then find out about the problem(s) later on. Good move, not buying it! Sure, there's a chance it could've been an inexpensive repair, but a very slim chance.
I sure hope you will continue your search...
Now that's just plain nifty right there! Probably the TC had his driver or the Motor Pool guys install it. Maybe he/she liked comfort and I bet it cut down on the noise level. Is it your CUCV? If so, does it have a name? "Shaggin Wagon" comes to mind. That's definitely a first for me. Mine...
NJ _Toolnut,
I can't answer the questions but the ones before my post here sound like they come from experience. There's a lot of experienced people here, and all willing to assist.
I can however, say "welcome to Steel Soldiers, from Mississippi". I'm sure it won't be long and you'll have the...
Welcome!
Welcome from Mississippi! So are you planning to get another MV?:)
A 400,000 btu heater? NICE ! That would even heat my un-insulated metal shop!
Welcome aboard!

Sounds like a blast! I get a kick out of driving mine 12 miles to my brother's house, can't imagine cross country (yet). Be safe. How bout some pics along the way?

I believe this has a lot to do with "parts wanted". For instance, if I had a part for an M813 buried in back of my shop somewhere (out of sight, out of mind), that just may be the only part another member needs to get him/her going, I wouldn't go to the classifeds daily to see if someone needed...
RAYZER, could you find a paint chip underneath, in a hidden area that hasn't seen the sun, and have it matched? You might just find the original color hidden in a corner somewhere underneath.

Cucvnut, just one item at a time. I can't even look at my CUCV for a month at a time. Now THAT'S depressing! But I do have internet at work so I can watch what all the other members have done to their MV's. Then I come home for a month and get to try all the neat ideas (that I can afford) that I...
