What a shame....
..........at least some good parts are being salvaged. And as badly as I want a big truck...........dang. I'll just have to save pennies til I can afford a repairable running one like the long wheel base 55 in Georgia. Thanks for posting, they look sad.:(
Those are awesome! Maybe Santa will bring ...................Dang! Too late this year aua lol. I'll be saving my pennies (for a while) for some of those! Thanks for posting tgtaylor!
On mine I found a bad connection. The wires on most of these are corroded. (Mine spent most of its life if not all of it in the humid southeast U.S.) It would work sometimes on high, then go out. Hit a bump and it would come on. I cleaned the terminals where the bulb plugs in and it took care of...
Mark,
Check out TM 9-2320-272-24P-1, Figure 97, and 97.1. This may be what you're looking for. It shows the canister that 91W350 posted, only looking at it from the inside of the firewall. The part you described is right behind this canister, and it's listed on fig. 97 and description 97.1 and...
Not to get off the main subject here but I've tried to post a picture on my entry on the map. Can't figure it out, can't find directions on how to do it. I've searched every way I can to find a thread on how to add a picture. Where did I miss it? I noticed some on the map do have pictures so I...
Took Butterbean for a short trip to my cousin's house to pick up 12 gallons of WMO for my new drip-feed shop heater (which is a success, by the way). My oldest son and I were headed over and "WHOOOSH...." a big ol' chunk of paint peeled off the passenger mirror.....like ALL the paint on the...
Welcome Kauzi! Good luck on your hunt for an MV. If you don't find one here in the SS Classifieds when you're ready to purchase, I'm sure someone here will be able to point you in the right direction! Thanks for your Military Service also!

"I will not be jealous. I will not be jealous. I will not be..........nevermind." That looks real good! Like Anubis8472 said, I'd just leave it hooked up all the time it looks perfect! Thanks for posting and congrats on the trailer!

Hey CUCVNUT, glad you're getting 'er done. It's gonna be a slow progress but at least you're on it. You'll have that beast back on the road before you know it.
On another note, I painted my 1009 before I left to work last time, it spent a month in my shop untouched by anything besides...
Welcome from Mississippi, bchelsey! That's a nice.....er.......MEAN looking 1009 you got there! Can't wait to see more pics, especially the soft top. (I'm considering one for Butterbean). Congrats on the find!
Download all the TM's for the CUCV if you haven't already, they will be some of your...
Congratulations! Looks like it'll be a long project just take your time it'll be fun. I'm sure you'll find all the pieces and parts to get 'er back going. It's amazing how these rigs can set up for sometimes years and then fire off with old wiring, old fuel, and moisture that has probably...
I'm also glad it's in remission beach, and glad to see you have a good attitude and outlook! Can't wait to see the project.........:driver:
God Bless You,
Jimmy
Welcome aboard, one2boost! Thanks for your service! Sounds like you have a nice fleet of vehicles at work! If you go to the top of the page under "resources", you'll find TM's that may help you on your way.
Oh...........and WE LOVE TO SEE MV PICTURES HERE, so let's see the fleet!

Welcome WisconsinZ, and congrats on the CUCV! Looks like a clean one. Don't let the tan throw you off, the color looked good in Desert Storm! Keep us updated on any mods to the 1009.
Jimmy
Update on Butterbean......failure!
Got back from a month in the desert, my CUCV stayed inside my shop the entire time. Got home to find what appears to be "mildew"? on the entire hood, part of the top (cab), and in some spots all over the truck.
I'm assuming I didn't let the primer cure enough...
