Just remember--OD disease is just like potato chips--ONE is never enough!:)

    Illuminated plate bracket

There is a SS member with a LED license plate kit listed in the "Parts, etc." section in the classified section. Seems to be a pretty nifty set-up. Good luck on your quest--Allen

    My M211 Battery Tray

Alan--looks like a great effort for your 1st time. You get that primed & painted and you'll have a factory looking unit. You can tell everybody that Santa left it 'cause you was such a good boy this year. By the way, your first name is misspelled.;) AllEn (Merry Christmas)

    M923a2 arriving Dec 23rd.

Congrats--welcome to the OD addiction. Maybe you can resist the disease better than most of the old _arts on this site(me included). But kidding aside, read, read, and read the TM's. Not trying to be a butt about it, but you don't want the guilt that would come with running someone over in your...

    923a2 air brakes leak

X2 regarding the brake chambers. Some years ago in my life as a Big Brown feeder driver, a newby mechanic in our district lost is left thumb, left forefinger, and nearly his life when the chamber blew apart. Those chambers are a bomb waiting to go off--'nuff said.

    R.I.P.--INSANEJECKE--Josh Duncan

I have to agree with NDT 1000% regarding the job openings in Texas. If you have your CDL, then just driving a water truck ( fresh or salt) out in the oil fields, you can make the low 6 figures. There is a Big Tex Trailer plant in Odessa right on I-20. Since I drove past the plant 5 times a week...

    M939 ABS ECU failure point

Another fine example of the knowledge and wisdom on this forum!! I kneel before the amount of info. that's here for the taking. Thank you to everyone that shares these facts. Regards--Allen(Old dog trying to learn)

    Cucv in Iraq

C D--I hope you change your mind and keep posting. I enjoy your postings and the information you have previously posted. Those battle scars on the CUCV are like the 2 notches on my Grand dads old Army Colt. A source of constant interest and discussion. So please don't let it get to you, and just...

    Thunderbird's M923A2 thread

TB--great looking rig. Have you considered having someone to ride shotgun with you to pick up your rig? Then you'd have your tools etc. for the return trip, solder B in case Mr. Murphy shows his ugly head, and MOST importantly someone to take pictures of you and your truck on the way back. Any...

New purchase arrival...Light switch won't unlock.

Sweet looking unit. You'll be ready for all kinds of weather emergencies. Welcome to the OD addiction. Be veerry careful--you will start out with just 1 truck. Then maybe just 1 M105 trailer to complete that "parade look". Of course the 105 will be needed for future weekend rallys. Then how...

Front tire blow out going 55 MPH on the freeway

Also check the max mph limit on sidewall. The goodyear 395's are rated for 68mph. On the 14.00's I believe they are rated for 55 mph. It's not the thickness on the tread that tells you the condition of the tire, but the amount of UV sun damage to the casing, if the tire has been sitting with a...

    Delayed start

Check your batteries to see if they have a good charge. Your alt. won't like trying to charge 4 almost dead batteries. Also check all electrical connections on the batteries, ground straps, connections on the alt. and starter etc. Good luck

    Camo cargo cover

That Camo gives your truck a whole different look than w/tan cover. Park it in the woods and you may have a hard time finding it. Regards

Great pics.--How many more hours of summer before snow starts showing up? If you get snow this winter like it's been raining up in Col., then I hope you have a snow cat or weasel ready to go. Thanks for taking the time to post. Allen

1900 miles in an M931a2 in 36 hours

Great story--You'll always remember this trip. As I was once told, it's not the thing that we do that we regret, it's the thing that we don't do that we regret. (Ex-wife doesn't count) Welcome to SS and I await more of your pictures. Regards--Allen

    Wrecker to the rescue

So glad all are OK--Last year a 74 yr. old farmer just down the road was shredding his pasture and stock tank and failed to show up for lunch. His wife found him under the tractor behind the stock tank dam. It looked as if he rolled it off of the dam. Had farmed all his life. It was a really sad...
