This is what I use and it works pretty well. Its made from a piece of 3/4" thin wall PVC 54" long and and a 13" long thin wall 1/2 " PVC length that has one end wrapped in masking tape providing for an interference fit inside the 3/4" pipe. I wrap just enough tape to keep it tight but...
To wreckerman893, the new shop thing was the real purpose of this. Needed to show wife how bad we need a nice shop with an overhead crane that could fit this and all the other VIP toys er trucks we have including HER M37. Didn't work.
RE: My M818 don
Most every single hose clamp on mine was loose but there were no leaks anywhere. Lucky. This one didn't need anything but a comete grease job, oil change and coolant change which I did today (coolant). These Cummins contain gallons of fluids!!! Not something serviced every...
More pics from GI Jodies outing. The Duece with the stuffed animals was stuffed to the limit with those things. Probably over 1500 in there. Pretty cool.

Great pics, got a question
Great pics and stories. I had a huge grin all the way home when I picked up my M818 and drove it 75 miles home. After 8 years with a deuce this was a dream to drive except for the overall performance. My M818 too wanted to do 55 easy on level roads but put a 38 foot...
I agree. I count two T-handle filler tubes, two dipsticks and one coolant cap. You are right on the arrows not aligning with their respective caps/tubes. Once figured out, boy would that be easy to service though.
Saturday, April 19th from 2-5 PM the Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Pinzgauers are taking part in a gathering called Operation Papa Bear where we will be collecting stuffed animals for the kids in Iraq. It will be held at GI Jodi's located in the southwest Denver...
The allen head plug that provide access to the voltage adjusting screw on both my 1970 M35A2 and my 1972 M818 are not under the wire connect cover as the manual I think states. They are both accessable by just opening the hood. See pics. The allen head plug is right below the alternator's...
Matching trailer
For emmado22, yes we did realize that the tractor and trailer may have been a matched set and even better we know where both the tractor and trailer have been based and traveled. My neighbor here in Colorado and fellow club member drove my tractor pulling this trailer and...
Lugnut markings
Here is a close up of the markings many Colorado units used. We saw lots of trucks marked like this. Easy to see if a lugnut has loosened. The Dec 03 on the hub was the bearing service date. My tractor had relatively recent maintenance done. I repainted the wheels and put...
Dave, in the late 80's we taught defensive air combat maneuvering with P-3's against F-16's and F-15's because of intercepts by fighters of the unfriendly countries in the Med. Mostly Libya and Algeria. Those flights were a blast to say the least. The avitar picture was nothing. The...
RE: One more set of pics
For Kenny, dumping the air would have brought the trailer down to ABOUT where the crossbeam was. We are going to remount the crossbeam 12" higher to ensure it clears next time. The only way I know to dump the air (after truck disconnect) is to open the air tank drain...
More pics
Here are some more pictures. One note, we found the original delivery receipt from the factory to the Colorado National Guard in Golden, CO under a file cabinet. Will try to get a shot of that for a later post.
