Looks like that one is missing the air brake hose, trailer wiring and the landing gear too. Would be a good deal if you just need a trailer and dont care about the rest of the stuff. I'd definately take that one over the $1700 trailer!
On the topic of GL bidding, I watched a clean M105A2 from Barstow sell for $1700 this week. I saw the trailer in person and it was very clean but that is a rediculous amount to pay when they can be bought for $400 all day long. I guess I'm just jealous of the nice trailer...
These trucks have no roll over protection what so ever. Its always in the back of my mind when driving at highway speeds. I would'nt take any chances with the old tires on the front, the rears shouldnt be a problem especially if you have duals.
If you put the resistor in line with it can you just hook it up to 24v? That would be nice since I have already burned out a pyrometer due to it grounding itself when I was moving it around. I have it hard wired on a switch off one battery for 12v.
I recently painted my truck. I spent about 2 days sanding one fender then said screw it it and just sprayed it with out much prep work to the rest of the truck. I plan on using my truck so its gonna get scratched and dented. If I spent too much time making it perfect then I would get upset at...
Hello and welcome! I will be in palm springs on Monday for some R&R. I can swing by and give you a hand and would actually like to check out the museum. I can tell you that my truck doesnt get to above 140 degrees without a load or a long highway drive, I think thats pretty normal. Send me a PM...
Its always interesting seeing people from this forum for the first time. Its usually never what I picture in my mind. I too figured Hotrod for an old guy. Looks like your fresh out of high school in the tux picture. Lots of really cool pics. [thumbzup]
My last truck had a depot rebuild in 91 and it had the 2 cyl air compressor. I bought a couple of old trucks from GL that had obviously not been running in a long while and they both had the single cylinder. My current truck only had 580 miles on a new or rebuilt motor and it has the 2 cyl...
My fuel is turned up. I didnt count the flats, just cranked away and was maxing out my boost guage right away (20lbs). I turned the fuel down to get about 15 lbs of boost on acceleration and just under 1200 degrees on the pyrometer. As for the stock housing, I cut right on the first inner...
I recently changed my K&N set up on my truck. I used to have my E-1796 k&n filter bolted on the top of the metal air intake pipe that connects to the turbo. It would use the hot air inside the engine compartment. The boost level increases and the egts were lower but it would still go go over...
I looking through auctions on GL and saw remnants of a burned out OSH KOSH pictured above. It looks repairable (frame and suspension). Only draw back its one of those auctions for 200K LBS of metal. I want to say it was out of 29 palms, Ca.
I ran over 20 lbs of boost on my truck for about 6 months without a problem, tuned it back to about 15 lbs and it seems perfect. Obviosly the EGT went too high real quick with over 20 lbs so it was for short bursts only. I was pushing my luck. I definately think these can benefit from a larger...
Ive got one those on my truck. It works good keeping looky loos and kids out but if somebody really wants to get in and steal the truck, it wont be a challenge. I only put it one the drivers side since the passenger side can use the inside door handle lock. A little spot weld on the screws would...
I just won an M105A2 today out of barstow. It has the older single wheel. The last 105 trailer I had had the dual wheel stand but no leg in the rear, I regret ever selling it. Ill probably end up swapping out my old landing gear for the updated set up. Those trailers are too darn heavy to...
I had an ATS turbo kit on my old 6.2 crew cab 1 ton. It helped liven up the motor a bit till I melted 3 pistons letting a friend borrow the truck with the fuel turned up too much. The installation of the kit was easy. The Banks kit was a factory option on the 6.2 back in the day. Definately...
