Did you damage the motor or can it be fixed with a new injector pump? It would probably be cheaper to get another pump and put it on then drive it home, versus having it towed. If your throttle spring came off or broke, the engine would go full throttle with the weight of the "gas" pedal...
Ive found that by pulling on the steering wheel at the same time using an air hammer to hammer down on the steering shaft, they pop right off. Ive never actually done it on a military vehicle but have done many ford cars and trucks and it works like a charm.
Ive been toying with the idea of putting an air bag spring on the front rear axle that you can air up real quick, putting a majority of the weight on the front rear axle which would basically be like have a short wheel base when needed for tight turns. I think it would be cool having an...
Warren, you were right by my house, I recognized the plane fuselage. That guy has alot of trucks he rents out to the movie studios. I tried asking him about buying one a couple of years ago but he never returned my call. Looks like you got a nice truck. There was a 5 acre parcel of land for sale...
There is a dolly on GL right now up at French Camp, in Ca. Looks like a nice one. I would like to get a set up like DR and use it for camping but am locked into a new motorhome payment for a while, a long while.
The Napa part number is 21470, I did a search in the last big discussion about mufflers. I found it under my previous posts but could not figure out how to do a link. Try doing a search under "muffler modification".

I got the muffler from Napa that alot of members have put on.
Its a flow through design and didnt affect the power what so ever, kinda like a large glass pack. It takes away the raspy sound and makes long trips more bearable. It was about $60 and well worth it.
Ive flat towed three dueces and all three had the same problem with the wheels turning the opposite direction on sharp turns. I cant imagine towing one with a 1 ton truck. On 2 seperate occasions I had the towed duece push the back of my truck sideways almost causing a jack knife. Both times was...
Ive done it and its a straight across swap, no extra parts needed, just the turbo. Fairly easy job especially with the entire air cleaner assembly removed.
I think those require 110v. I cant run my roof mounted a/c in my motorhome without the generator on or being plugged into 110, and its basically the same thing.
Im running 12v off 1 battery for boost guage and interior lights. Had that set up for about 8 months with out any problems. I plan on putting in a stereo soon and a cigarette lighter socket for my cell phone charger.
Hey all! I'm going to swap a PTO onto my duece that I just put a winch on. Do I need to drain the transfer case before I pull the PTO cover off or is the oil level below the cover where I dont have to worry about oil leaking on my driveway? Thanks,Devin
I have had a craftsman oilless 5 horse 25 gallon for about 12 years without any problem with lots of use. The only thing I hate about it is its very loud. I will never buy a direct drive compressor again. I would opt for a belt driven unit with the 2 cyl cast iron block. But if its a good deal...
These trucks are definately rising in price on GL. I watched all the trucks in So Cal and only a few went for under 2k. With the price of those bikes, I'll just stick with Yamaha.
After changing tires on a 2 1/2 ton truck with 6 lugs, image having to do 10 lugs, its quite a work out. I would stick with the duece. Everything on a 5 ton is bigger and heavier and not as easy to lug around. Just something to think about when things break or wear out. Although I would love to...
These were highlighted on an episode of "Mail call". It showed the marines training on them at Camp Pendleton on the sandy beach. I think it said they have a 350 mile range, nearly twice as much as a gas model. Ive seen a cannibalized one on a pallet on GL out of Pendleton. I would love to have...
