I just bought mine in September. Previously done frame off restoration, needed nothing. No rust, no bondo, no leaks, CARC paint, entire restoration was documented with receipts and photos by the owner, and runs wonderfully. I won a few local car shows for Best Truck and Best Chevy already...

Do you have it registered as an antique, military vehicle, or collector (not sure what applies to Oregon)? Those classifications are usually exempt for emission tests. In WI any diesel before 2006 is exempt.

I bought a M1009 on the pictures the seller sent me and a few phone conversations. Drove 3 1/2 hours in a rental to pick it up and then drove the M1009 home - a 4 1/2 hour trip at 60 mph. No problems at all - but I brought a milk crate full of tools and parts just in case.

Pulled the panel off the back and found some loose clips. Made sure everything was hooked up correctly and it seems to be working now. Thanks!

I just bought a new to me M1009. I'm having a problem with the tailgate. The glass raises and lowers fine, but the tailgate will not drop down. I can pull the release inside, but nothing happens. Really put some effort into it thinking it might be sticky, but no luck. Any suggestions? edit...
