Some pictures of the truck.
I've already ordered a 4 door soft top kit and a 3 point seatbelt kit.
Anyone know where to get the straps that hold the grille up? I can't find them. One of mine is broke and I really like the look.
I going to save the list of everything that it's hit. I...
I just arrived at home after 3 hours on the road in my new-to-me 1994 M998 HMMWV.
Picked it up from a seller who was motivated to sell ASAP for a steal. He purchased it from Texas 6 months ago and it had been sitting in his driveway since.
No pictures yet - it's dark - but it ran fine. Zero...
Unfortunately, they will most likely use Blazer prices to determine value. I was involved in an accident with my M1009 (not at fault) and had it insured as a daily driver under a regular car insurance policy. I had to hire a lawyer in order to receive close to the value of the M1009 - both my...
As long as you don't try to pass yourself off as a veteran, you shouldn't have any problems.
I never served, and when asked if I served I answer "no." No excuses or stories on why I did not serve. EVERY veteran I've met respects that decision and appreciates the fact I am using my truck to...
Thanks for the help everyone.
I somehow managed to reverse the second battery and was putting the negative on the positive.
Reversed the battery and tried again with a new wire. No sparks. No fire. And now everything works.
Not sure how I managed that one!!!!!
Thanks!!!!
It's raining like crazy right now, so no pictures yet, although it sparked as soon as the wire from the firewall touched the positive - this is before I had even hooked up the front battery.
As for any other disconnects, I obviously disconnected each glow plug spade connector and each of the...
Ran into a problem I can't seem to figure out.
Disconnected and removed batteries in order to access glow plugs on passenger side easier.
Changed all glow plugs on the M1009 with replacement AC Delco plugs.
Reconnected wires to glow plugs.
Reinstalled batteries.
Connected high ground...
Low twenties when the photo was taken. It's 16 and snowing as I type this. And Friday it will be 52 and sunny.
Love that spring weather!
Also, odds are I know your MIL if she lives in the city limits. I work for the city.
My light AND plate are stuck to the gate with magnets. It looks a bit sloppy, but I can pop it off at car shows.
The light is a LED light I had a friend rig up on a metal plate.
Mine is stuck to the rear gate with neodymium magnets.
Drove about 1,200 miles last year and the plate never moved. Plus, I didn't have to muck up the truck with extra holes.
Just dropped in some Group 31 batteries from Advanced Auto. Dropped right in to the existing battery trays and hold down brackets.
Truck started right up - runs better now than it has in a while.
Thanks all!!

Nope. Both batteries failed testing. They came with the truck and I have no idea how old they are.
I'm heading out to get new ones tomorrow. Just to be sure - will any Group 31 battery fit in the trays? I have a car show on Sunday to attend so I'm looking for a "plug and play" battery. The...
Both my batteries are bad - I have no idea how old they are, but they are beat up and both failed testing.
I just want to make sure - will any Group 31 battery fit in the trays or only specific models?
