rtl434,
I have had this problem in the past with several of my deuces. When the weather gets cold I experience the starter relay not functioning and I take my push button jumper across the solenoid to start the truck. In warmer weather I do not have the problem.
I addressed this problem in a...
I have a 1968 M51A2 which also has a bearing out of the top of the transfer case. My truck has been sitting for a year now and finally found a later transfer case.
Question: since the dumps and crane trucks, etc move slowly most of the time, how do we prevent the upper end bearings/gears from...
I would recommend shocks on the rear. The recent thread where the chap put new shocks on the front eliminated the wheel hop and created a much better ride. This will also help eliminate tire cupping from the wheel hop. 2cents
Myself and my buddy have an agreement with a couple of propane companies. I pull out the propane trucks east of Cloudcroft and my buddy pulls them out west of Cloudcroft. The Sheriff Dept will use us as well if necessary. We get a big discount on the propane for our service. We received 30+...
Does anyone know where I can get parts for the electric unit? I have one deuce with the upgrade and have purchased an NOS electric motor. Just need the remainder of the system.
For all you cheapscates out there. The Air-O-Matic is worth every penny. Espcially for those who are older, hava a disbility or do not like getting the steering wheel whipped out of their hand after striking a rock or stump. Takes all of about 4 hr to install. So quit whinning.

I have used a gas tank sealer on several occasion for pin holes and to cover existing inner rust. I used it on my portable welding tank and several motorcycle tanks. Using small pellets first to clean the scale in the tank then pouring in the sealer. Inexpensive and easy to use. The...
Me and my buddy are running Ouverson's and can tell a difference in the handling. We are not checking fuel mileage since we only drive up and down the mountain occasionally. I plan on having several trucks with lock outs in the near future. Or when my ship comes in.
In addition to all the above suggestions which are good, I learned as a young wrencher 40 years ago that if you give the subborn bolt, plug, nut a few sharp raps with a hammer it will usually release easily. I have used heat with the sharp raps on really stubborn bolts, plugs, etc. If they put...
In the alternative, purchase a 24 volt delco and a cheap DB electric universal adapter and put it on. The new delco runs about $150. And you can get parts anywhere.
Welcome on!
My cousin is in Paola. He restores WWII harleys. Belongs to the MVPA. Has one on display at Central Harley in Olathe. My family has a farm just west of Osawatomie.
Below is one of the manufacturers of M35A2 radiators. I have another but the cats have been on my desk and scattered most of my notes. Let me know if you need another source?

Do not run the engine anymore. You could toast the turbo. When slowing down the engine did you happen to notice the RPM? You may have over revved?
Any way pull the head. Check for cracks in the head and leaks at the valve seats. With the engine popping out the exhaust I suspect cracked head...
I may have noted this in another thread but bares repeating. On one of the deuces out of Santa Fe the engine started cutting out after about 3-400 mi after recovery. In fact on Memorial Day. Got it home. Pulled the primary and a trooper had failed to replace the spacer, washer and spring. Only...
Quite welcome guys. Next time you come out perhaps you can stay longer. 24 hr is just not enough time to enjoy what NM has to offer. Was a pleasure having you both.
When Brad comes out to pick up the other deuce perhaps he can visit a few days?
Hear Ye, Hear Ye,
On a hunch, a whim, a gut feeling I went out and wacked briskly with a wrench on the starter relays. Both deuces started immediately. I surmise the cold weather had some effect on their function?
