I use a 220V Lincoln Mig welder with core flux. This is more versitle wire for me. I use it inside and out. If using Argon or a combo then there can not be any draft or the gas sheiding is gone and the splatering starts and makes a mud dobbers nest as a weld or it burns thru. And remember to use...
Moth balls are an excellent deterent for most critters. Moths, spiders, crickets, wasp/hornets and most any other insect. Cheap and easy. Rats and mice do not like it either.
I went on a tirade a couple of weeks ago about GL business practices and was afraid to bring up the class action suit issue. I was sure the monitors would delete my post. Now I see there are more members that feel the same way as I therefore it may be worth looking into. The government receives...
RE: Mine looked the same?
If the pump is not running try pulling up the wire that runs down the center of the pump. There have been a couple of occasion that the wire has worn thru and shorted the fuse. I pulled the wire out as far as possible and put some electrical tape on the wire. It...
:ditto: on that jwaller. I drove my deuce to Home Depot to pick up building supplies and the young chap that helped me load the supplies told me he drove deuces in Iraq an that the A3s were a POS and that he preferred the A2s because they rarely broke down or had mechanical problems.
Since we are discussing the IP I would like to pick your brains. I had a pump resealed had a experienced mechanic install the pump. Following that, the truck has been had to start, especially in colder weather. He has changed the timing and setting but to no avail. Still has good power on the...
You will need frame extentions and winch mounts. Saturn Surplus has 1 side NOS winch mount for $30. I forget which side. They only have the one side tho. I have a set of frame extentions and a good right side winch mount. The left side requires some fabrication. Someone cut the top part of the...
NF6X-I moved the truck to a different location due to restrictive covenant complaints, therefore unable to get pics. To answer your question there is no cap on the master cylinder. The master cylinder appears to be new. There is only the 90 degree fitting with line out of the top. ??
I agree it is a very neat low cost set up.
This brings up a question for all. The last deuce acquired from Tinker about a month ago had some low pedal and upon attempting to check fluid level noticed there was not a cap on the master cylinder. Only a brass fitting on top with a line coming from...
As an old hot rodder and restorer there are many antique auto places that sell steering wheel repair kits. Comes in a variety of colors. And I believe Eastwood may carry the kit.
Classic Auto in OK City should carry it also. They are on I-35 south side of the city. Search Hemmings Motor News.
Just a few other items to check before going into the engine.
1. Check condition of air filter.
2. Make sure your blow by tube is clear.
3. Check for fuel air leaks.
4. Check fuel filters
5. Take a compression check.
Again my 2cents
This similar situation has happened to me. I drove a deuce from Billings, MT to southern NM. Around 1000 mi. When I hit the NM border the engine oil pressure dropped. I made it home but by that time the oil pressure was 5-10# and oil was coming out of the front crank seal. The problem turned out...
GL may be a monopoly but they do answer to the Defense Logistics Contracting Officer. Start there at Battle Creek. Or in the alternative at the base where the truck is located. 2cents

Unless you really trust the person you are buying a used radiator from, you are buying a" pig in a poke". I would prefer to purchase a...
