Front axle locator pins are on both 2.5, and 5-ton Rockwell axles. The pin on the long side of this axle has deteriorated significantly.

Expect the rates for that type of haul with a dead head return trip to be around $3000 for a vehicle that size. That is about $2.12 a loaded mile. Fly down, and drive it back, or rent a u-haul, and trailer to tow it back.

It is also possible that you may have a bad fuse box. The terminals in the box for the fuse that powers the lights, and horn is known to fail. Is the jumper wire installed in the "black out light" switch connector?

Are you willing to trailer your CUCV to a repair shop? If so How far are you willing to tow it to have the repairs done?

You might want to check the load range rating on the tires, and date code. A bobbed deuce weighs between 10000-11500lbs depending on options.
