ever wonder what your ride looks like from the air?

Evidently google doesnt update there maps very often. This looks like it was taken 4 years ago. Shows my bobbed deuce, 2 M1009s, and a M105.

    Another Fuel Tank Thread

So your saying that the fuel tank in my 87 M35A2c is not galvanized? Not mine personally but as standard work they don't galvanize these late model diesel tanks? Looks like your right. Evidently the diesel dissolves the zinc coating over time. Let the Lye treatment begin! This is the goop I...

    Another Fuel Tank Thread

Good point. Was going to use lye in mine this weekend, but guess I need to keep looking. Even though its not an acid it is a very strong base and would probably damage the zinc coating.

    Another Fuel Tank Thread

After doing some more research most people recommend acids such as vinegar, muratic acid, and citric acid for tank cleaning. I think this is mainly for rust issues, not the "gunk" we are trying to remove. Carb cleaner was also mentioned as a possible solution but they must have changed their...

So what happened to the tranny? Could have sworn previous owner advertised it as have a newly rebuilt transmission.

I'm also going through this with a WR deuce right now. Got the tank drained and dropped, but with the baffles see no way good way to clean it. Is there any cleaning solutions that will cut this red crap? Then maybe set it in the back up my pickup for a couple hundred miles to let it soak and...

Official 2014 SS Ga. Rally buy/sell/trade thread

I have 7 - 14.5-R20 Michelin tires from a M35A3 that I will bring only if they are sold first. Not good at estimated tread % so here is a pic with a quarter for comparison. How about $500 for all 7? This is for the tires only, no wheels included.

Welcome to the addiction! Plan on attending the GA Rally next month, you will have a blast. I saw that truck on craigslist but never made it up there to check it out. Good luck with it, and definitely do the doghead relay ASAP.

    Nasty Fuel System

I recently picked up an AF truck with this same issue. Curious to know if anyone has run any biodiesel to try and clean this sludge out, heard it makes a great fuel system cleaner. I dont mind multiple filter changes, just want something i can pour in and burn that will clean out all the...

Deuce was dead on side of the road.

Would like to help anyway I can. If nothing more than fuel for the wrecker to help get it to the rally. Also would enjoy being there to help/watch/learn, might have to do it myself one day. Keep us posted on what day this project will begin.

    My 1992 M923a2 is home!

The keyed door handles are available in our classified section. The master switch may or not be, but is available on an auction site that starts with e. I have had good luck with the caterpillar brand. Just wire into a 24v relay to completely shut down all power to the truck.

Yep, you can start with locking door handles, and a keyed master switch. Keeps honest people honest, and accident prone people from making costly mistakes.

    Deuce for the Fourth

This reminds me of a recovery I did a couple months ago. Was driving a deuce home from St Augustine FL, looked over and realized I had a co-pilot (aka soldier B). He sat there and sunned himself most of the way home. Told him some great stories on that 12 hour trip ( most of them not...
