I’ll try that but I doubt it will work. Honestly, we do go to some of the local cruise ins on occasion but we’re always in my 72 K5 Blazer with the top down. Maybe next time we can take the deuce and see how that goes.
Thank you sir! I’m rather fond of the old girl and thought those 3 were perfect for anyone stuck behind me. I really wanted a multi fuel but the gasser has a beautiful sound that’s all her own. I’m trying to convince my wife we need a bobbed A2 to park beside it.
I added some yellow decals to the doors and tailgate for the “correct” ish Air Force markings. Also some additional stickers in white that I had made just for Ole Blue.
I’ve read many of the old Denton posts. I’ll be watching and hoping the event isn’t canceled as well. I would LOVE to take Ole Blue but I’m not sure it’s ready for the roughly 230 mile trip. Well, maybe we’re both not ready to go together at least. Unfortunately I don’t foresee our...
I the previous video he said he could get another one (truck) for $300 unless I misunderstood him. I'd love to know where so he doesn't destroy that one too.
Dash mount came yesterday and I got it installed today. I’m not real happy with the lower placement even though I measured it out by the instructions. I may move the front floor mount behind the back one.
I found a decent Jerry can with a 1951 date code. Cleaned it up and gave it a decent coat of Strata blue. Mounted the freshly painted can mount and the new strap and then finally put the can in place. One more piece to the puzzle! It really makes me want to paint the whole truck. I also got the...
Ole Blue is fairly quiet with the insulated hard top. It's also a gasser so it really doesn't compare to the multi fuel engines. :) I have a K5 Blazer thats way quieter with the hard top than the soft but again, kinda apples and oranges.
Thanks guys. I had not checked back for a few days. I’ve been finishing a kitchen remodel. My Christmas present to myself “needed” a rifle mount. It’s not exactly period correct but close enough.
I want to install one of the dual rifle M14/M16 dash mounts in ole Blue. I’ve searched and struck out in the normal places. Does anyone have a source or one in their parts stash?
Don’t take this as an argument but my M35 is a ‘53 gasser. There was not any mounting points for a mustache spring. (See earlier pics) Therefore I can only guess it came without one and at some point it was a revision for newer truck. The replacement assembly I installed has it and it’s...
If you have the the short round handle style, I’m pretty sure the knurled end turns to adjust the cable pull. It’s another glorious rainy day here or I’d go take a pic of the M105 handle for comparison.
This is the extent of the info on the hand brake. It doesn’t mention the mustache spring or have it in the illustration. Of course that doesn’t mean much either. My brake lever looks like the one in the last pic. The newer style looks just like the parking brake levers in the M105 trailer.
I have the 8022 manual but I haven’t verified what it says about the parking brake. I just know my original brake assembly had no provisions for the mustache spring and the new assembly did. I don’t have a pic of the new setup. With my truck being a 1953, there are several things I’ve found that...
I replaced the parking brake shoe assembly already. I didn’t have a return spring at all but I found one that I made work. Better than nothing was my thought. The original style didn’t have the mustache spring but the replacement assembly did. It wasn’t that it was missing, it wasn’t designed...
