    Removing the packet envelopes

Warm the surface with a hair dryer or something similar. Then give it a good coat of Goo-Gone. Then cover with aluminium foil to keep it from evaporating too quickly. That's about the best way that I've found to get off old adhesive. Use only wood or plastic scrapers, anything else will...

Labels for vent and choke controls?

Thanks. MVdataplates does list throttle and vent plates but no pictures and they're "not available at this time". I did look in my manuals but they don't show these plates.

    Prepunched holes in M37?

I don't think so. These are LARGE holes. Approximately 4 inches in diameter. OH! I'll bet they're for the heater/defroster kits! Never seen the heater so I didn't know where the hoses went through the panels but I'll bet that that's them. Thanks anyway!

    Prepunched holes in M37?

My M37 has large pre-punched holes in it. One on the dash and just to the left of the glove box and another on the left cowling just in front of the drivers door and just below the window. Anybody know what these were for?

Labels for vent and choke controls?

Did the USA or anyone else ever put screw on labels on the dash of the M37s for the choke and vent controls? Mine has four holes arranged in rectangle above each control and their pattern is just about the same size as the label above the throttle control.

    Which tag in FL?

I visited the DMV office and that's exactly what they told me. They even printed out the relavent regulations. HOWEVER the problem that I ran into is that Seminole County won't allow any vehicle with more than two axles or with a cargo capacity of more than two tons to even enter any residential...

Steel Soldiers Florida Get Together - June 4th-6th!

How are the bugs there in June? When people asked that, my father used to say that one landed at the local airport one time and they put on 10,000 pounds of fuel before they realized it wasn't an airplane!

    Which tag in FL?

Well, according to Code Enforcement (zoning) ANYTHING that's not inside a closed garage is a "public display" even if it's in the middle of 40 acres and has an 11 foot fence around it! I'm serious, code enforcement dinged a friend of mine even though that was the case. He caught CE personnel...

    Autometer pyro

Transformers only work on AC power, not DC.

    Autometer pyro

How much power does it pull? If it's not too much you can use a 7812 regulator IC to drop 24V to 12V. Depending on the particular model they'll handle up to 1 1/2 amps but will probably need to be heatsinked to handle the total POWER dissipation ((~27v charging voltage -12V out ) X current...

New Run of AFV 1/35 M35A2 21/2t Cargo Truck

How would PVC cement work for this? Anybody tried it?

seat belt and turn signal required in '51 M37?

I can't find a picture of those particular ones but a lot of the newer military seat belts (M151, etc) use a big reel to retract the belts and I don't think I'll have room for those.

seat belt and turn signal required in '51 M37?

Anybody know what Fla requires as far as seat belts and/or turn signals on a '51 M37? It used to be that they weren't required if your vehicle was pre '67 but I don't know if that's still true, particularly since they now require that you WEAR seat belts. Can anyone give me a quick run down on...

Anyone in central Florida have a trailer to haul a truck on I could borrow?

Which one? The one in Tampa/Zepherhills? Tell me about it!

    I'm confused about model year

I once owned a car that was titled as a hard top when it was actually a convertible. At the time (1976?) I was living in Va and I asked DMV about correcting the title and they said I could bring it in and have them inspect it and verify the correct feature and that they would then correct the...

    Dusenhoff?

Nope, I own or have owned every one of them. Left a few out; M-37, M38A1, 1950 Plymouth Sedan Deluxe (same engine as the M-37!), '67 Charger, a Nash Healey, 66 Hemi Satellite and probably a couple more. I've been fooling with Mopars for a LONG time!

    Dusenhoff?

Yeah it certainly looks nice and shiny. The problem is that MVs aren't supposed to look that way! I suspect that after dealing with GL and hearing horror stories from others that have, that no one on this site would be foolish enough to judge a vehicle from pictures alone.

Fined for running WMO (not me)

I've never heard of that before. Is that a search that you have to give "consent" to? If so I'd be telling them NO! OTOH my vehicles are privately owned and commercial truck drivers probably have to give "consent" in order to get their licenses and permits just as auto drivers have to give...

    Dusenhoff?

Jezzz, get a life! I posted it here because I thought the title and description were funny! Apparently a lot of others did too. A couple of other points; One, I have not been able to get ANY pictures to post on this site. Two, since I'm not trying to sell it I wouldn't have posted pictures...

Anyone in central Florida have a trailer to haul a truck on I could borrow?

Hi, I'm in Orlando and I spend all day yesterday looking for a truck and trailer to bring home a M-37 but had ZERO luck finding anything! Talked to my seller and found he has a truck and he's going to borrow his neighbor's trailer and he's going to bring it down for me for the costs of fuel...
