when I was at fort hood several of us had to load towed 105s into c-130 so we had a pintle added to the front bumper of the deucce we had to tow them was alot easier pushing the 105s into the c-130s and pulling them out that way
A civilian hitch comes in handy when all you have is a civilian trailer. and for me the deuce is very veristile and the more you add to it the better it becomes.
thats the same way I attached my reciever a reese I used the existing holes and then drilled out four more and it fits good but had to use a 5" drop to get it close to a trailer. also want to get one of those triangular shape trailer guides.
I need to replace my gauge it is readding all over the place went out to the deuce one morning and it was full of dew so the seal must be gone I think it is sticking.
My gun safes are in the back of my M109 as the road to the range is in bad shape lots of potholes 2' deep and mud. have fun in the deuce just driving it to the range. also have lots of desecant in the van body.
I hate deuce side windows they really are not designed mechanic friendly. I cant get mine to roll up any more except by hand the handle just spins. I tried taking all the screws out to get it down it did nothing window would still not come down.
Always hated climbing up on the front of the deuce to do work so bought a tire step from harbor freight it fits the deuce tire and is much easy to step up on
I never liked the 152mm I saw a test firing with an inert warhead. The missile dropped out of the tube spun around on the ground then shot straight into the air, came back down and hit the turret. The second time I saw one fire it almost knocked the tank on its side.
