GM M1008,
As everyone else here, I'm glad you weren't hurt too badly in this crash. Some things have me puzzled though:
1: You were hauling scrap iron, going up a hill. How steep a hill, and were you loaded heavily behind the rear axle?
2: You said you had no front brakes nor steering...
Wiring
Mine was slow, so I did a search for "CUCV wipers" in the forum search. I found several different threads listed. Most pointed to wiring. I found a bad ground on mine and they work great now. It would be to your advantage to check/clean every electrical connection on the CUCV since it...
Nice !
Biglerboyz, this is an awesome looking truck! I've read this whole post and saw a lot of arguments about this and that. Bottom line, I'd drive that crew cab anywhere and everywhere! I don't even have a regular cab deuce or 5 ton (yet), but seeing your level of metal fab and the interior...
Very nice! Looking back I wish 800 series had those seats in them from the factory! They look like they could be original. Very neat job, keep us posted on those LED's with pics.
Nice !
Looks like a nice setup you got there. Sure, the legs may take a few seconds to screw into place, but that aint bad. If it works it's good. I had an old popup I bought for cheap and had to use a turn buckle to hold one end (one complete end of the camper!) in place once I set it up. It...
Warning's CUCV
Got the hood today, brought it home and got it cleaned up/primed. After cleanup I realized it's straighter than I initially thought it was. Glad to get it. My old one was bent like crazy with a lot of creases. Enclosing pics of the old camo hood in its new (and probably final)...
Looks like a "just-dig-in-and-git-'er-dun" project. Lots of work cut out for you, but it looks like you have the shop and equipment to get it all done. Keep the pics coming, and we can't wait to see the finished product!....subscribed!
Also, two [thumbzup] [thumbzup] for your Avatar!!
Welcome!
Welcome from Mississippi ! Yes John, you'll find a LOT of valuable information on MV's here and a LOT of people to share your experience with and to go to for help with any questions. Welcome to Steel Soldiers!

Rust repair (kinda) pic
At some time in its' life my 1009 had a battery leak down onto the inner fender well and rot about a 6"X8" hole. I'm not one to call NPD or LMC and order new metal when 95% of this one is still good. SO....I cut and ground out the bad rust, primed the area, and cut...
Welcome from Mississippi
Welcome aboard from the Deep South to both of you! Hope you both find the MV's you're looking for. Once you do, there will be plenty of information on here and plenty of Steel Soldiers members willing to help with advice. Keep us posted once you find your trucks and...
Thanks, and I still got much more to do, just like Johnny Cash...one piece at a time. Yep I've gotten lots of comments on the ol' tire step. I bought it when I was working out of a utility truck 4X4 with the top boxes on each side. I couldn't see my bolt bins so I picked it up and have used it a...
