You can buy the actaul channel with the felt installed. It is the same prduct used for the front window frames in the doors but obviously much shorter.
It is a rubber u-channel with the felt insides all in one piece. You just glue it into the metal channel brackrt or you could probably buy the...
From the number painted on the hood I take it that you are not going to use the option of registering it with the military registration number in leiu of license plate.
If you do, you will want to cover up the heart and script for the pictures taken for the OMV or it will probably get rejected...
Just as a hint, leave the bolts slightly loose for the vertical channels in the talgate. Get your glass in and work it up and down once or twice to align the channels. Not too loose, you just don't want to put the glass in a bind. The holes are a little large to allow some movement for...
The dimmer action is part of the headlight switch as they are integral to each other. You need a new headlight switch assembly. Save the Knob with shaft though. There is a spring loaded button on the bottom that you must push in and hold while you pull the know out all the way and then it...
Sautrn sells the front and rear. I have purchased the lights from them before.
Sometimes that came configured for an M880 so I just swapped my connectors on to the new lights.

This is an attempt to keep "Soldier A" from butning the glow plugs out buy making the turn sginals and other lights hot without the key being inserted into the ignition.
They can do a full PMCS with no keys.

My switch is on and has been since mid 1995 when I first picked mine up from Uncle Sam. I test my blackout lights about once a year but don't use them
other than that.
I rotated my master switch (right side position) upside down from the way the military had it and also swapped the terminals...
I've used their services to balance my rear shaft but that is not what I'm looking for. They only sell parts that they install and I am wanting to do the work myself which is why I asked for a reference for parts.

I removed my front drive shaft for ease of tranny removal for rebuild.
The universal joint and CVC joint on my driveshaft are probably original
and the needle bearings are dry.
Questions is has anyone else replaced the rear joints on their front driveshaft and if so where did you purchase them...
I have found that printing these diagrams out on ledger size paper really helps too.
Nothing like having the diagram laid out on the fender or on the inside floor while looking for wires.
Office Depot or Kinkos or other similar stores can print them out for you if you give them a CD or DVD with...
Calling is always a good first step but the law says that they have to be notified in writing. I would get the name of the person that you called and send them a certified letter in the mail.
That little green card that comes back to you is proof that is accepted in court.
It is a cheap $5...
I just thought that I would ask again in case there is anyone else out there who has come up with good quality M38 TMs.
I would like to acquire a whole set of the library (not radios) for these jeeps as I have one in restoration. No one seems to have a set that has legible pictures in them...
John puts out EXCELLENT work. I have used his products a few times and am always happy with the end result.
I know of an individual in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that has two new old stock M38 floor pans for sale.
He has had them since the late 1960's and they were manuafactured for the military...
You have to go to the west side gate for non-registered visitors and they will give you a lot of greief in coming in the deuce and will try to shoo you away.
You have to stand your ground tell them that it is a P.O.V. and this is the only gate that you can enter through.
You will get in but they...
Eric,
You are close to where I went to college in Vincennes.
Will be going through there in 2nd week of July.
I found that rule too in my search today. Really glad that they have it for you guys up there.

In Louisiana look for RS:490.16C and also DMV Policy of the same number.
The actual law is from 2005 but they have used the law to implement policy dated 07/01/10.
The title can be obtained throught the local office but the registration must be done through the special plate division in...
In Louisiana and in Indiana you have to have the SF-97 to start the title process or you have to have a title from another owner.
The CUCVs are exempt but they do meet DOT specs at the time that they are manufactured.
There is a 800 number that you can use to call GM and they will send you a...

I put 33/12.50 x 15 tires on the OEM 15 x 8 wheels and I have driven mine about 230,000 since I purchased it in mid 1995.
They require TLC from time to time but I paid $900 for mine and even if I put $1,000 each year into it (and I have not) well, do the math, that is still less than...
I normally don't like to inject confusion into an issue but anyone wanting to use a civy trailer as an example on both their civy trucks and 24 volt military trucks must remember one thing.
Simply changing the bulb from 24 to 12 or 12 to 24 is not the only requirement.
Using the 12 volt...
I sank mine one time and all the things that I tried failed except for the very last one. I dug down to the bottom of each wheel and put about a two gallons of gravel in each hole behind the truck as I wanted to back out. I duck back about four feet making a shallow ramp and that thing...
