Could it possbily stiill have the flat rubber plug installed and a small bit of dirt over it to where you are not seeing it?
The military has to use OEM parts by contract (or at least did) and all the GM backing plates have the slot for adjustments.
Perhaps the rare occasion where they...
You shouldhave an adjusting hole (actaully a slot) there at the bottom.
Take a small pick with a flashlight and lift the adjusting arm for the parking brake and turn the star wheel backwards to help retract the shoes inward.
Unlesss the starwheel is frozen you should be able to do this and this...
Now comes the idea of putting a civy hitch on the deuce IF you buy it.
It will take about an hour or perhaps a little longer but if you are gon g to buy it then you will probably want a receiver hitch for it anyway.
I purchased a used hitch of a 1 tone Ford Van and had it narrowed and then I...
So "Mrs." Do you have an O.D. Green toy of your own or is this the joint ownership plan?
Pictures of your toy (s) would be good.
Welcome to the site! So glad that you are a participent and not just a spectator. :-D
My other half observes from a-far unless I am hauling new flowers or mulch...
All CUCV series trucks had the J-code 6.2 diesel as per contract.
There are a few military owned chevy blazers that are not actually CUCV (or D series) trucks but they must have been rare local purchase vehicles.
J-codes are 4 bolt mains and a few other suttle differences.
C-code 6.2 engines are...
Peel the strip out of the middle but cut the old seal with a sharp razor blade knife.
You don't need to take a chance on pushing it out of semi stiff rubber. The old seal is not going to be used again so this will ensure a clean removal of the good used glass and a clean removal of the broken...
The ARmy had some of those that were a gloss olive crab fo the "big wheels".
Another brand is Dupont in the Imron line and that is what we use for most aircraft flying offshore to the rigs.
Many choices to choose from.
Gloss paint will hold longer than flatter versions but it depends on what you...
I assume that this is where the sump valve would be since it is the low point of the M105A2 air tank. What ever it was it appears to be brass and is obviously sheared off.
Standard 1/4 inch thread drain valve??
Thanks, jimm1009
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to identify the M105A2 trailer that I picked up?
Evindently it was in Germany and underwent a rebuild there and therefore has a replacement data plate. No manufacture, contract number, or serial number.
funny thing is that they added an MWO number where the...
If you don't find it in your area there is an company here in Lafayette, LA (Nolan Bearings) that can get any bearing from all most any manufacturer or they can cross it to Timken.
Post your numbers (or e-mail them to me is even better) and I'll give them a call on Monday AM just in case. They...
That is a different axle as the wheels would be outside the fender wells by 75% or more. The axle tube is a smaller diameter or so it appears to be from picteure #2.
I did this with one of mine because someone liberated the axle and tires just before I purchased it.
It lowers the gross weight...
I had one made about 13 years ago for $100 by a little welding shop with a SAE certified welder. I think that it is 2 inch, 3/16 wall with a 2 inch civy coupler on it.
Unfortunately, I can't get pictures of it until Saturday as I am off on a 1.5 day recovery trip to retreive two M105 trailers @...
NAPA also has their own brand of the GL-5 with MT additives as well in 5 gallon pails.
Thanks for sharing. More is better when it comes to information on our trucks.
jimm1009 :)
I would recommend taking your coupler with you as I don't believe that 4/0 will physically fit into the back side and allow you to screw the cover back on.
Can't hurt and then you know all is well but in this case "size does matter" assuggested above. Also make sure that you can acuqire the...
I have also seen thse mirrors on e-bay (USA version) several times as well.
I purchased a used set of mirrors from someone parting out a truck and then purchased brand new mirrors (glass) from another S.S. member from Alabama.
A couple of holes in the cowl just to the rear of the hood area and...
Does anyone know for sure what the weight of the M105 Bed is?
I have a 1,000 lb. capacity chain hoist that I woulld like to use to pick the bed up without the tail gate installed.
Anyone know if this will do it safely?
The total weight is supposed to be around 2350 but that includes tires...
I used my shop vac and put a 1 to 2 psi charge into the fuel tank and then bled the filter out than then the pump. It takes a while to do this.
Caution: you can burn out your starter if you are not ccareful.
It helps a lot to remove 6 of the glow plugs (all on r/h side and front two on L/H...
