WOW, I am very sorry to hear of your experience. It makes me sad just to read about it. This is one of those things in life that makes me and everyone else sooooooo MAD! With all the pride and hard work we put into our MV's it DOES seem like a personal attack. Busting up someones stuff is...
I still have the new IP that I talked about previously. It is without the button, and it needs a delievery valve spring. I'm hoping someone here can help with finding the rights spring. The IP's for MEP2's and 3's are the same. Then you will need to figure out what to do about shims. If your...
Has anyone ever tried to install a pantograph style wiper to eliminate the annoying u shape that is left right at eye level/ I looked at some boat style wiper set ups that might work. How about a wiper blade that is 2" longer for a better sweep length in the vertical direction?
I can't really help much, but that 12 pointed stud looks awful similar to the 12 pointed stud used to house the fuel delievery valve on the MEP injection pumps. Without looking at a TM, thats what I think it is.
Do you know how long the jenny sat without running? I'd be nervous to even turn the crank the slightest bit at all for not knowing if the internal parts of the IP are siezed. If they are, the cam shaft will force the pump to spin but if the internal plunger doesn't you'll break the infamous...
I just looked in the other thread about this that I put the picture of the drive washer. There is a little bump on one side of the washer so that when it is installed into the face gear it fits one way. So the driver washer can only go in ONE WAY, this will avoid the internal mismatched timing...
"If the "Plunger Guide" (#26 of figure 1) was put in up-side-down, that would put the timing off by 180 degrees."
Yes, I was thinking about that last night. It does seem possible but you haven't taken yours apart yet, but no one knows if any one has. Who ever you got it from (jenny) unless...
Congradulations on the genny score! Mine is a mep02, I'm glad to hear that you are not in a hurry to fire her up. It has come to be found that old diesel in the high pressure injection pumps turns to glue. The internal workings all bind up if these units sit for a long period. Search around...
The sticking in the rod/pin to time the pump, how are you sure that it is going into the face gear slot? The pin will go in but not knowing how far when not in the face gear and then in the face gear will give you a different depth (obviously), Just a thought. So it may or may not be timed, but...
When it runs for the short time that it does, does is seem to run on all cylinders? This will imediatly let you know if they are good and that its not the injectors, sounds like a fuel blockage. Your over thinking the IP pump regarding the timing or IP out of time with itself unless you "drive...
I had originally thought, like you, that the bigger the better and the COOLER! But after talking with various people and doing some reading here I now think otherwise. There are many threads here about tires, take your time and flip thru some. Like m-35Tom said, consider the wear on the drive...
I was looking around for the Firestone t-831's and the local dealers say that they are discontinued. They look like a great tire for the deuce and will keep the engine and breaking load down (11/20 size). Does anyone know where to find them, I like my michilin xl's but down the road when they...
I just talked to a gentleman who said that if you don't anticipate using your truck off road and just go to shows and the like you can remove the front hubs and (I'd purchase a seperate set) bring them to a machine shop and have them machine out the splines and then reinstall them. This will...
For you guys doing winch installs and need new bolts, check out my thread for the complete list of sizes. I don't know how to post a direct link, but search for "complete deuce winch bolt list".
Trd, on the top of every SS page is a menu bar, click on the User CP, here on the left side is a column of menus, go down to private messages and click send new message, like e-mail there is an address bar to type in the persons name, here once you start typing it will auto list members. I'll...
